Was in that Lloydspharmacy stand yesterday, what a daft name, the one where the players come out and the gossip in the bars there was rife that sisu had more or less gone and a new dawn was iminent, although it has to be said there was bits and pieces of gossip but nothing substantial and no real identity as to who these taking over our club are or where from. Just think the rumours are so substantial someone from the Hoffman camp is going to have to say something soon and imagine the gloom if it turns out to be just that, rumour.

If its a celebration, will the 'boycotters' be trying to get into the ground to join the celebrations?

Also, should we get through and draw a big team, how many boycotters will there be then???
Most of the boycotters are for 15 minutes how can you ridicule that ??

Not having a go; just making a point!

The same point you have made several times already. I'm a boycotter and also I have hung banners from bridges etc. It makes me no more a fan or less a fan than anyother. If a deal is done before the boycott then I have just as much a right to attend the game and celebrate as anyone else.

If a takeover happens we need to fill the ground as much as we can to show our new owners what can happen with the fans behind them.

Well said dan the man and when this takeover happens and sisu are no more and that is what the boycott is all about ridding us of sisu anything else is a bonus, you can walk a little taller than some.

This kind of claptrap is the biggest problem with this whole thing.

If someone chooses to boycott, great. If someone chooses to go to the game, great. If someone does neither, great.

Nobody has any right to lord it over anyone else*, and this holier-than-thou shit will only put people off.

Everyone has a right to do what ever tthey want and no-one is more of a fan than the next person regardless of wheather you boycott the southampton game or not (if sisu are still in charge).
I have been trying to get this point over with some posts and threads lately that all this.
Your a sisu fan you do not support cov.
Your an idiot because your view is not the same as mine.
And so the list continues, it is crazy and riduculous to think anyone is a better fan than the next we all support coventry in what ever way that may be otherwise we would not be on here discussing issues about the club (unless they are fans from other clubs obviously who are on here for what ever reason)

I myself and I have seen others having to put (this is not aimed at you **** and the like and it is crazy as no comments are aimed at individuals but the forum is getting like this at times and some are getting personnal at groups of people/individuals just for having differant views to themnselves.

In short yes Dan you may go to the match and do what ever you want.

I fully agree ajsccfc.

Why should someone walk taller than some?(unless of course they are taller)

I agree with the protest, I could say I have not been to a match since sisu have been in charge (well been to a couple) so I have protested more than others so I should be carried in next time I go to a match.

This is the kind of thing that is dividing people on here, we all want whats best for the club and some show their support in differant ways no-one is above the next person, we all show our support in differant ways, for the team and club.

I think the point ccfcdan was making and i apologise if i'm wrong is sw88 for example is quick to dive in and sort of ridicule the boycott as soon as the issue is raised, yes he/she is entitled to, yes he/she is free to post whatever, but when someone appears to be quick to make what he/she may think are clever little remarks and not really offer any alternative should he/she feel there is one people could start to feel he/she is just anti boycot for the sake of it and to be different, which can wind people up a tad.

And this is the problem ER it is from both sides of the Boycott fence people are saying things that need not be said and should show respect for what ever anyone else is doing as they have the right to their opinion on whatever the matter maybe without being pigeon holed into a category of fan or being classed as arseholes, sisu fanboy, WUM (although we do get these but they do get spotted fairly quickly),sisu spy or whatever.
It is coming from both sides, and yes OK we do not want pure harmony where no-one says anything about anyone's views but there needs to be a constructive balance between debate and lack of respect for people's views.

But yet answering with basically 'don't listen, you're better than him' helps nobody whatsoever.

The key phrase in all this is respect - respect each other as we are all cov fans, respect each others rights to differing views whether its about a player, a performance, a manager or even a protest. If we all agreed about everything this forum would be redundant - obviously I am all for the boycott and protest but fully respect anyone who doesn't support it - don't have to agree but have no right to insult or belittle them. No supporter is better than any other, is Abramovic a better chelski fan cos he's spent eleventy billion on the team than the guy who has been going to every home game for 30 years? No we are all equal and need to respect each other - hate SISU but not each other.

Sorry everyone!! Was merely replying to sw88's question regarding boycotters and there right's to support the team if a takeover has happened before the soton game. Didn't mean to destroy another thread with this rather pathetic infighting that's currently going on. Let's just hope these tools go so we can all get back to being happy forum familes :D

No problems Dan, and nobodys fault.

Let's hope they have gone by the time the southampton game comes around and everyone can start to enjoy everything that is sky blue and forget this whole sorry mess.

Would be great if they have gone and the ground is full with celebrations and a great atmosphere and of course a victory, the sad thing is their would have been no need for this if sisu had kept to their initial plans and we would not even be talking about any of this.
However I think they realised not long after taking us over they had cocked up and have been trying to get out since but just increased the damage to themselves and have had no way out, admin would not have looked good for them as a business and I do not think their investors would have been too happy either.

I am not ridiculing the boycott; if fans want to this then thats fine. And it certainly doesnt make me a better fan for attending the game than someone not attending.

And I didnt post the question about big ties in an attempt to post a "clever little remark". I posted it as a genuine question as we all know it wouldnt have happened / wont happen for a big tie!

Hi ER,

If Hoffman steps forward in the next few days as is being suggested (Tweets, posts and all), then let us hope it is a credible bid backed with a proper business plan to move us forward - not another club for a £1 bid. If Hoffman makes a sensible bid and has a credible business plan, then it is a win / win all round - SISU get a chunk of their cash back; we get our club back - but Hoffman will be expected to deliver on his promises (be in no doubt of that - no easy rides here).

If however Hoffman is not going to step forward in the next few days as is being suggested (Tweets, posts and all), then he starts to lose credibility in the eyes of many many supporters who quite frankly are getting tired of the "will he / won't he pantomine". We have more important issues in hand on the back of 2 decent results and a real fight back, and we do not want a drawn out take over affair that will ultimately undermine the team - boycotts, disharmony etc. We all need to get behind the team in the fight against relegation - and that means a "truce" with SISU.

As I said previously (and I stand by it), either Hoffman steps forward in the next week or so looking to wrap this up by end of January or so, or he goes away until the end of the season and resurrects any interest in the Summer.

What none of us want are our hopes and desires being toyed with by the likes of Keys et al constantly feeding us false information - remember, Keys "reliably" informed us that 23rd December was the day we could expect news, and guess what....nothing, other than more tweets - hang on, won't be long, things going on - backed by the "we know something you do not" crowd. We deserve better - so quite simply my personal message to Hoffman is get on with it or shut up - simples.

Caveat - The above is my opinion. It may differ from yours ER. I am however a Coventry fan - like you. I want change but not at any cost. I know nothing of Hoffman or his bid so I do not blindly accept it is what it is cos others say so. I am not disloyal. I am not a Villa fan. I am not a board member. I am not Godiva. I am not...well just about anything else you would care to throw at me. I accept my opinion is no more important than your opinion. I indeed respect your opinion even though it may differ to mine...I hope by this caveat you get my point:thinking about:

Regards

How can a topic that was surposed to a positive one get so messy. As has been said we are all SB fans and want what's best for the club. If the scum are still in charge next Saturday then I will not be going to the match, if we have new owners I will go as I will be happy to gove them my money.

Hoffman won't lose credibility, these are only RUMOURS. If Hoffman comes out and says something will happen in the next week and then nothing then he would lose credibility.

Hi CCFC,

On the basis the general consensus on this forum is Keys is tweeting away with Hoffman's blessing (which must be right given they are very often seen together at games), in my opinion Hoffman stands judged by Keys tweets. Keys is Hoffman's mouthpiece and so I (and others) are quite entitled to assess Hoffman's credibility against what Keys tweets - if it were not so then I am sure Hoffman would have told Keys to shut up long before now.

Cheers

But didn't keys say he was told to shut up, but he couldn't help himself.

I'm sorry but I don't agree at all that Hoffman can or should be judged by Keys tweets.

So can we agree that "Hoffman will lose credibility if he doesn't step forward in the next few days" in your opinion.

Some will agree with you, others won't.

Personally I won't because my experience of deals like this is that rarely work to any neat timetable.

Personally I'm glad that someone is trying to do something to rescue our club from it's current mess and I'll give him/them the benefit of the doubt until I have reason to do otherwise.

Just wait and see what happens. I posted what I was told on Thursday about the deal by a guy who works at the CET in the Ranson thread
You can't deny there is a buzz about the place about what is gonna happen

Keys has never said a deal is imminent as far as I am aware, just that things are ongoing etc. Keys have never said to my knowledge a deal will be completed in the next week with or without Hoffman's blessing.
It is just rumours that are speculating a deal could be in the next week.

Just saw a tweet from someone who is an Ambassador for the city of Coventry and he says a deal will be announced in the next 72 hours, that was 24 hours ago :)

The deal has happened believe me and they are just waiting for the West Ham game to be out of the way before confirming it. Listen in to Talk Sport and for cryptic clues from our saviour Mr Richard Keys

Apparently Hoff is working tirelessly to get the deal done. I bet the bank he works for are pleased he's doing his very best for them and his £700K a year wages. Unless NBNK become our new owners.......

Think NBNK probably going to get wound up, was only an empty shell formed to create a new bank from Northern Rock and the Lloyds branch sell-off.

The Hoff's negotiation skills and ability to seal a deal with his insider knowledge obviously were crucial to their success...

The Hoff is a major player and how some people are getting on his back for doing his best to get the parasites SISU out of the club is beyond me. The boycott and "Save Our City" is an excellent concept and the fans are definitely doing all they can to show SISU that their time really is up. The last time that Hoffman put a bid in, they were under the illusion that they could win the fans over win Onye's plea that they were going to become more transparent and look for the share in the ground. Now that it is totally clear that they have nowhere to turn and continue to leak serious cash every month, they have no choice but to treat Hoffman and his new consortium (which was introduced by his friend Keys), with some respect. It has to happen.
