That is a nice kit. Part of me wonders if kits have anything to do with performance. I know they say teams in red tend to win more games than teams in other colours; we always seem to play in a very sky blue these days. I just wonder if we could butch it up with a bit of black as per the kit above.

That was in February 1974 when there was a power crisis. Clubs were not allowed to use floodlights, hence the earlier kick-off time.

City's regular kick-off time then was 3.00 although in the 60s we did start at 3.15 for quite a few years, an idea of JH I believe, when we were getting gates of over 20000 every week in Division 3.

I do agree about that kit too. The away kit was the same pattern in red and blue which also looked good.

The reason for the later kick off was because of factory workers finishing later so to give them time to get to HR
