Mark Venus and Richard Stevens are looking round finham park school today. I'm assuming something to do with a new location for the academy. By the way mark Venus I wearing the most horrendous coat.

It would need the whole academy to be built there if it was for that wouldn't it?

I would guess that this would only be temporary while they look for a permanent site. There is a new block that was built next to the school for temporary use by Finham Park 2 while their new school was being built. This could maybe be used for changing facilities although it is currently used by the school for extra classrooms

Ideal really lots of space too and it's now an academy so no council to deal with and room to extend facilities I would think also walking distance for my grandson

Can we have more details on the coat please. Is it approaching this level of sartorial elegance

My mate runs the Green Lane club round there, there's tons of space, apparently there was supposed to be a massive estate originally that never panned out. Might be a good shout.

Why are you letting Mark know that the coat you're wearing is horrendous?

Would road access be an issue? I suppose actually we're talking an academy not a stadium so it wouldn't be an outrageous amount of traffic

Will be the academy and training ground together surely. Why split them up.
One piece of land and one set of management and running costs.
Just need a ground now and a new team and all tickety boo.

You can easily access the school with a decent amount of parking. Is then about a 10 minute walk to the back fields

a lot of green fields, Finham park own the top field next to the school and the one directly under it, the surrounding fields are owned by a local farmer. There is no entrance from Gretna road, years ago you used to be able to enter the fields through the back entries of peoples houses on Gretna Road, however the school fenced all these off.
The is only one entrance and that is through the school and a drive down the school field.

Ye said definately no entrance off Gretna and I don't think there's any chance of being allowed to driven down the school field - will have to walk

At one time the plan was to move the whole school back in to the playing field. Build the new one there, move in and then knock the existing one down.

What happened to the Woodlands idea?

Google Maps

Looking at that, you could easily add a new road in from the A46 or Kenilworth Road to service it.

Looking more and more suitable to me. Obviously usual concerns around building by posh old people with lots of time to complain about planning issues and green belt, etc.

How could you add a road, its housing and private land?? there is no entrance or road way to the field and no chance of getting one, there is also a railway in the way.

Didn't spot the railway to be fair, but land can be bought and bridges can be built (would be a first for Sisu admittedly ;))
from kenilworth road you'd have to buy up houses on Kenilworth road, Woodside Ave, Most Ave, Wainbody, Beanfiled, Gretna build a bridge over the railway, but yeah I guess its poss
