Wish people would stop banging on about deflategate like it was the reason the Pats won that year. It broke the rules but it made no difference whatsoever. Think their performances since prove that.

Would love to see the Falcons win. Always good to see different teams getting to the big game, it's what makes the game great. Even the Browns chance will come again eventually, and probably sooner than people think. They have 4 picks in the top two rounds of the draft this year. That's some serious team building power, particularly if they can pick up DeShaun Watson at number 12 who is being seriously undervalued.

Can't say Ive ever seen an ounce of real glory as a Redskins fan, Patiots being my second team I will be in their camp this weekend. Every SB I have watched has ended in me highly lubricated and I expect this Sunday to be no different.

May have a couple of beers as well.

I'm watching on the Beeb this year. I normally go with Sky but they've ditched big Kev and Neil Reynolds is a toolshed, whereas 'Chappers', Osi Umenyiora and Jason Bell have been ace on that weekly show after MOTD.

Last year was the first time I've watched it in Coventry, we went to Rileys, the Cov uni team had some sort of do on so the atmosphere was ok, this year we are going to Hickorys in Burton Green

I watched it on the Beeb, couldn't believe what I was seeing, so watched it all over again on Sky (having recorded it too).

Was just about to go to bed. 28-3 down it was all over. Game set and match to Atlanta, but Brady is Brady and you can never discount him.

Now being hailed as the best QB ever in the history of the game.

Incredible, the first half and most of the 3rd quarter was an almost flawless performance from ATL on both sides of the ball, the D line seemed to be getting to TB whenever they fancied, Julio Jones was doing things we didn't think even he could do and Matt Ryan was calmness personified, it was like the GB game all over again!

One difference however, Where GB had a loose cannon controlling their destiny NE had the best QB in the world!

With just 23 minutes left and 25 points down he executed methodical drive after methodical drive after methodical drive, a catch off the Falcons legs, a fumble, 2 2 point conversions and the flip of a coin there was only ever going to be one outcome, after the punishment he took in the first half this was remarkable!

The Falcons will be kicking themselves though, with just under 5 minutes left and sat at 1&10 on the NE 22 a combination of sacks and penalties sent them back to the 45 and out of FG range, why they didn't run the ball in 3 times over taking time/TO's off the board and a FGin that position still puzzles me and ultimately could have put themselves out of sight.

Yep, agree. They were in field goal range. Kicked that and they would have been two scores clear.

I think one thing of note was all the pressure the Falcons blitzing was putting on the NE offensive line.

They kept getting to Brady and forced him to hurry. Trouble was of course, they didn't have the stamina to keep this up all game, so as they tired Brady was allowed more time on the ball and his line gave him much better protection.

Once Brady got that protection he was moving the ball up the field at will.

Think the two key factors also, apart from pushing Atlanta out of FG range, were the Edelman wonder grab and then the Pats winning the toss in OT. As they had the momentum and Brady could no longer be stopped, it really did look like a formality that he would drive them straight down the field and score again once they won that toss.

what I think cost the falcons was their defence was gassed by the 4th quater. Falcons offence was so explosive they were scoring too quick and their defence wasn't getting any rest.
And then when they were in field goal range to put it back to a 2 score game with little time on the clock, opting to pass and getting the flag, then a sack, if they ran the ball and took the long field goal its game over.
All credit to brady though that was some come back and that catch by edelman how it didn't touch the ground I don't know. Great game.

I wanted Atlanta to win it, but all the way I was thinking 'it's not that much of a lead, but no way can they-' and then that happened. You can't deny a comeback like that. Worth staying up for!

I honestly thought it was all over at 28-3.

At half time I thought the Pats might be in with a sniff, but had to score first in the 3rd quarter. When the Falcons extended their lead with a further touchdown to make it 28-3 I believed that was the final nail in the coffin.

What a comeback after that. Incredible.

Yep, they spent almost the entire 2nd quarter on the field, even putting points on the board whilst they were at it. Came out after HT a quick 3 and out followed by another TD stretching the lead to 28-3, they must have thought they were almost home and dry!

I dont think ive ever put brady down? I just said rogers is the best for me present day. He just has that magic which makes him best for me. Rodgers woukd have won it in regukation last night with a hail mary instead of rhat novelty screen pass play lol

You cant argur with 5 superbowls though. No ossue with brady being called GOAT

Stat of the day

The Patriots have not scored a single first quarter point in their 7 trips to the superbowl with Brady & Belicheck!

I said last night to the lads I was watching it with, this could really hurt them, look at the way the Panthers played this year. I have no idea where they are at with players out of contract etc.

NFC south could be real tough next year, you have to expect the Panthers to be better, Tampa Bay seemed to be getting their act together at the end of the season and the Saints/Brees will always score points in a shootout.

I fear for ryan. Thete is a chance falcons will never get back thete. Gotta take these chances whilst you can
Yeah, I agree.

Sometimes it is your moment and last night was just that for Atlanta and in spite of the Pats amazing comeback, that was in part down to Falcons errors and poor play calling.

Now their offensive Co-ordinator starts his new job as head coach of the 49ers, top of his list of things to do, find a qb who can throw the ball like Matt Ryan, a search that begins at his former team in DC.
