Sounds like its yakubu's potential wage demands then.

Yep, he probably is stalling over the offer of the minimum wage being offered by the club! However, TF will continue to spout rubbish about the failure to secure signings not being attributable to money!

Looks from the offal that Slade is talking up probable return of Vernam.
Perhaps he thinks that's a better option or is just managing expectations

Why not ask local business men for a bung to assist has happened before If they did and Fisher turned it down wouldn't look very good would it.
In many ways, isn't that what Fisher's job is, to try and bring in financial support from outside the club ?. All he talks about is balancing the books. Anyone can do that. Has he the personality or charm to bring local businesses etc on board. ...er.....no. Is he even full time ?

Problem with players like Yak are they don't care or have the desire for the club to do well, they are interested in a last pay day. He has got his name back out there now and has done some work on the field to see if he still can compete, its up to the agent to find the highest bidder. I will not be crying if he doesn't sign, nor will i be jumping for joy if he does, what i do know is he and his agent have done what most players do at his age and stage of his career.

Slade will make the decision if its worth having him around as an impact player and if he wants him Yak will only stay if the money is right.

The longer it drags on, the less likely it is to happen. Not sure we need him now we are already down. It's about 2-3 games too late.

I agree - what's the point in signing him now? We should be preparing and planning for League 2 next season. Directors, players, management and coaching teams.
Yep, totally agree.

If I were Fisher I would sit Slade down and ask him if he will walk away. He only has a few months left of his contract.

Think we all agree, it's not about winning the EFL Trophy, it's about getting there and having a day out in the sun for the fans. Don't think any of us are going to be absolutely gutted if we lose.

Time to start planning for next season.

Tim Fisher would have to sit Slade down and ask him IF he wants to stay, he would have to take a pay cut. :jawdrop:

Doesn't look like 34 year old Yakubu or 44 year old Yakubu is signing for us, probably got a better offer

Pointless and desperate signing. We don't need another immobile front man, we need somebody to run on to flick ons. Kwame Thomas looked pretty good in the air on Saturday and won a lot, we just have no striker (Thomas aside but he's being used on the wing) who is likely to run on to these flicks.
