I'm not pushing my morals onto anybody am I? i am saying realistically ccfc fans should go and support ccfc if they can.

The minute I start to give it loads about my morals and principles and then go against them is the minute I expect to get hammered for it, and rightly so.

I'm somebody who believes that CCFC needs fans and the players will be helped with fans behind them rather than against them. Again, I'm not bringing morals or principles into it.

I have joined in as many of the protests as I can. I have never been against the team. I don't think any other protester has either. Maybe you need to see that the protests are against Sisu never the players. I spend hundreds of pounds each season buying tickets travelling to games home and away and would never have a go at the players. Like most supporters, I support our team, our players. I protest against our owners. Can you not see that is what people are doing? I think you need to consider what you say rather than making sweeping statements like this. presumably you think that you support the team far better than someone like me because you do not protest against Sisu and all they have done.

A big crowd at Wembley shows investors fuck all. The crowd for the next league game will show that.
Not true. Forty thousand at Wembley shows the potential of this club if someone comes in and at last gets things right. The 8k that will turn up on Saturday will also show that despite everything that has been thrown at this club we can still attract larger than the league average attendance. Why do some hate the people of Coventry?

We're potentially bigger than Oxford and Luton put together who just showed up and went home. In 87 we took well over 50,000 to Wembley.

Oxford played there in 86 and Luton in 88, what's your point?

The Wembley crowd is meaningless, the club needs consistent good gates to show potential. One off events isn't potential.

I can see that some protests are not against the team, I have said multiple times that people like BHSB and LAST (and many others, including yourself judging by this post) can protest but then see the line where it becomes against CCFC rather than SISU.

I'm not talking about protesting about SISU in general. I am talking about being behind CCFC which you still can be if you protest or not, some people can see the line where it is SISU and CCFC.

I am not sure how you have taken all of that from my line saying about people being with CCFC and behind the team which you clearly are anyway and taken issue with it?

You going to a game and for example doing a coffin protest before then going into the game afterwards and supporting the team is not what I'm getting at at all. There are people who despise SISU who are fully behind the team up and down the country and fair play to them.

Look at what you said. The protests that take place are never against the players. It is always against Sisu.

This is what I said. How did you get from that to what you are saying now?

Slade has also said that some methods have protest have affected the team.

How is NOPM helping? Which is what I meant about fans being behind CCFC. (Not SISU)

People can protest and support the team, lots do!

Again, you are saying something which I haven't said.

When has a protest been aimed at the players?

The ones he has said affected the players? Doesn't matter if it's aimed at SISU or Trump, if it affects the players.

Are you reading different posts to what I'm typing as you seem to be trying to get something completely different out of it?

Surely you do realise that it isn't just black or white, just because saying "its against SISU" doesn't mean it won't affect players. The same as me saying some might affect players isn't the same as saying every protest will affect the players.

The bit about getting behind CCFC (not SISU) was more about NOPM.

I find it funny. It was always going to happen.

I'll chill a bit once I've killed a couple with my bare hands to get it out of my system.
I agree Ashdown.
The moderator should be promoting good banter and extreme views in an environment of constructive chat. seems at times it's treated as a personal fiefdom and gets too bogged down in personal abuse.
OK, everyone has their own view - but let's accept that and not start abusing each other.
I have in my hand a piece of paper..........

It's not by any chance a Wycombe stub is it?

Your quote refers to fans being behind the players and not against them. I say again I have never seen an protest against the players. By definition, if you are NOPM you are not at the games so are not against the players. Surely you do realise that protest are certainly black and white. The " Love City hate Sisu" chant could not make it any plainer. If as a consequence of a protest going on, you would have to ask why is it our 11 who are adversely affected, not the opposition. Any protests that have taken place are 100% aimed at Sisu. Not CCFC, not the team. You are setting yourself up as the arbiter of who is a fan and who isn't. You are being divisive.

Good post mate but you're worthy, well considered words are falling on some very cloth eared individuals.

It isn't black or white is it?

ie. One protest might affect players and another may not, doesn't change the fact because it's aimed at SISU or not.

Again, amazing how you are upset about division. What did you think of the division the tennis ball protest caused, had you ever seen anything like it?

It is Slade's words that some protests can affect the players, other protests can affect CCFC like NOPM.

Notice the word some, singing love city hate sisu is on a different level to stopping games. Common sense tells you that.

I guess you will be questioning people when they say that people going to games are part of the problem?

It's amazing you can get all of this from 1 line.

Both Venus and Slade have said straight after games that protests had no effect on the result. In fact Slade said after the Charlton game he had no problem with what went on.
The fact remains that you seem to see protests as against the team. It is black and white, because they are not against the team or CCFC, they are against Sisu. I protest because I love this club and I want Sisu gone. I go to games and I support my team. I do them both. Like everyone (apart from the few brainless boneheads who abuse the players, nothing to do with protests), I support my team. I and, as far as I can see, no one else is against them as you say we are.

I still don't think you are following.

SOME protests can impact the team, SOME protests can impact CCFC. Doesn't matter who they are against or aimed at.

Slade has said that SOME protests have impacted the team.

Again, it isn't Black or White because it isn't saying EVERY protest.

People CAN protest AND be fully behind the team, as I have said and use BHSB and LAST as examples in that. That isn't excluding other people from that either.

Yes it's true. Even the non league final has had clubs selling well over 20,000 tickets for a day trip to London. So what?

So now we all agree increased attendances and support show potential owners that CCFC has potential and NOPM doesn't exist as everybody has bought tickets to Wembley. I'll see you all at the Ricoh for a bumper crowd to cheer the boys on in a vital relegation 6 pointer yes?

We all want the best for the club

As the record attendance for one of these finals was 80 000 and therefore every other final having less than this it doesn't really support your argument. I can't find figures for previous finals but by definition it would seem that most brought less than 40k. If every team brought 40k every year surely the record would be more. As mentioned on a previous thread, record attendance for any team in a competitive Wembley game was our 55k at the Charity Shield. Shows the potential success could bring. I don't understand the need to downgrade the potential of our club.

I disagree loads unites us

We all want City to stay up
We all want City to win at Wembley
We all agree that we have been badly treated by multiple parties
We all want to reclaim our rightful position in the Premiership
We all know this is a very tough ask
We all want ambitious owners who are interested in football as well as care about the fans

The biggest attendance so far for an EFL Final is just over 73,000 think this game will beat that.
