As we all know Andy Thorn is on a 12 month contract as manager. It's become pretty apparent that Lose, Win, Lose, Draw or Lose he will not be getting the sack.

My question is, do we think Thorn will get another 12month contract regardless of how we do this season. TBH I don't see why he would be sacked even if we get relegated. SISU don't seem to care about results.

Bear in mind this is not what you would do, but what you think SUSI wil do.

he's on a 12 month rolling contract thus he will always have a 12month contract and he will always cost us 12months worth to sack him

No they can cancel it at the end of the 12months if they so wish. Hence why it's a 12month rolling contract and not a permanent/3 year contract.

It's a difficult one. I think while SISU are here then he is safe. If someone does take over then I would imagine he would be on his way, most likely back to being the scout, which I think he was bloody good at.

If we lose him as a scout it'll be devastating. Someone told me on Saturday that he is still only being paid as a Scout and doesn't get any extra as manager. Could be true seeing as SISU are tight and Thorn is still scouting.

Yes, my thoughts too, KingH.

I doubt it very much, he may even struggle to stay if we are taken over anytime soon. The reason being in either scenario he would have to hit the ground running, maybe even sprinting and the first time he stumbles the fans will be on him, he's drew a short straw has AT but he knew that and you have to wonder as to why having his main players sold or let go, his chance to sign first choice striker Le Fondre scuppered, having Ken Dulieu undermine him the other week with that dug-out fiasco he hasn't resigned.

Whatever happens to CCFC this season either relegated or not the chances of Thorn staying as manager are very slim.
The only scenario I see for him to stay at the helm would be SISU still in charge and Thorn keeps us up. That would give him tenure for the first couple of months of the new season.

Hope he gets back to full time scout.

Why would you go for from being a scout to the manager of a club and back again? When he get the push or goes he will be gone for good. He has had a taste at CCFC now of being in charge and will want to have another go - maybe where he has more financial backing behind him. PUSB

He might be acting manager at the moment, but I think the results show that he is not a manager. I'm sure any one of us could go to the club sit in the dugout and win as few matches as we have this season. He's a scout and a good scout.

He's on 8k a week not bad for the worst "manager" in Coventry Citys history.

He is on a rolling 12 month contract - ie It always has 12 months to run when it ends unless it is announced before hand, so it's not a cost free option to sack him.

Is a 12month rolling contract not 12 months and then another 12 months once those twelve months are up? Like a monthly mobile contract. Can be cancelled at the end of each month with no cost to anyone.

Therefore they could tell him that his contract will not be renewed at the end of this 12 months.

When is his 12 months up?
Any one any ideas how much notice he they would need to give? I'm guessing a month but only a guess.

he's not on 8k a week !

he will be on half that..

Only rumour, but appartently he went from 2.5k a week to 4k a week when he went from scout to manager...

Now, true or not, you can see why he aint happy at fat freddie sitting on his backside on his wage !

Turn them on wingy mate or I will just have to point out your spelling mistakes..
So can it just end/not renew in march when he became manager without any pay off?

really ? what has freddie done for his 8k a week then ? hes a striker who wasn't scoring goals when he played & now cant even keep himself fit enough to play.. one of our highest paid players, not doing his doing his job & tying up money that could be spent on somone who could help us stay up.. id say he has done more ot get us relegated

I thought a rolling contract means it is a year and then next year they will see if it wants to be renewed.

It doesn't mean he always have 12 months, as surely when we get rid we would always have to pay him a year for doing nothing?

That is how a rolling contract works ,its actually considered a good deal for the club as it minimises the payoff ,think of Dowie ,Coleman Aidy.so for those who think ATs a leach staying for a payday,he's been fairly benevolent .

Thorn is a fat leach he's just looking out for his 8k x52 weeks payday while he gets us relegated.
