Merry Christmas Mr Slade...look to the future (1 Viewer)

Once again Slade seems to be on another planet with team selection and tactics. Since he came in bringing over Bevon he created a type of football associated with hoof when we had a squad of players used to playing it on the ground and passing.
He gets the Yakubu as we desperately need goals and then leaves him on the bench.
Tudgay will score two all season if we are lucky, no pace.
Jones left on the bench when in previous games he has come on and scored or made a goal?
Then players so called unfit can't still be injured so badly they can't be risked for the cause? Stevenson among others.
Slade had the whole week after a win to figure out Yakubu in the side, add pace in Jones, get behind the players, work out a way to win together and yet he fails to even appear like any improvement was made?
Full of platitudes he is, which we have seen before, but what's obvious to me is he has not been able to motivate or get the players to adjust to his game plans. He has persisted with his 'vision' when obvious change was needed and we continue to look rudderless and falling through the trap door.

We could not afford to lose this game today and we are now all but certain to go down. The players are good enough, at least for survival but we just have a nightmare management team from top to bottom where all hope has been eroded and confidence dissipated from the team and the club in general.

We fluked a trip to Wembley but as I said before I won't be going to Wembley...we have already lost the plot. That final of this competition is just a reminder of how far the club has fallen, it means nothing to me. I feel sorry for the players who have no figure head to turn to other than clueless people in charge. What a sad, sad time for this football club. Where will it all end?

We didn't really hoof it today, played some good stuff at times but nobody wanted to put their foot through it and shoot.

He brought Bevon on and lumped it forward and brought the Yak on and he started out on the wing. The guy is on another planet as he does not see the value of his own players abilities.

We played no long ball at all - regarding team selection his biggest problem is he picks tripe like Haynes every week - a player you actually rate

What are you on about? Were you there?

Yak was on the wing? He went straight up front.

There was barely any long ball today, a few into the corners but that's it. Nothing like a couple of games ago.

It was down to awful defending today.

No route one but nonetheless we didn't have a clue to unlock their defense.
Missed a couple of good chances, just trying to have 100 touches in the box.

How long did it take to realise every one of their goal kicks was going the same way and sort it?

I do rate him yes. Think with better management he would be very good. there are players out there that are good enough but we have failed to improve them. Why?

Players like Haynes,Burge,Rcc have had 3-4 different managers in the same number of years and have not progressed. Bigi aswell and another in Conor Thomas who came on for Swindon today. The list of academy dog turds is endless bar 1 or 2. Wish people would just admit that they are not up to the job and will be plying their trade at non league level in the near future as have most of the others. It looks that it may be with us on both counts!
