Slade gone (11 Viewers)

I don't really know what we do next. We've tried experience in Mowbray, a seasoned and successful L1 manager in Slade, a rookie in Thorn, a (so called) up-and-comer in Pressley. What's left to try?

This club is fundamentally broken.

Ricketts may well be a good shout, but wasn't the general consensus that he wasn't a great captain? Or that he certainly wasn't the most vocal of captain's on the pitch? Obviously ranting and raving on the field doesn't always equate to being a good manager, but I seem to remember many people questioning his leadership skills.
What are leadership skills, always puzzled me that statement and being a good captain too . Bobby Moore was a great captain for club and country for ten years, crap manager though, don't think Brian Clough was ever a captain or Jimmy Hill.

Absolutely the correct thing to do , worst manager at CCFC for some time.

And he was up against some strong competition for that title.

The recently retired ex club captain option?

I heard they had a fall out and that's why he wasn't playing.

It's very very unlikely a clause was included given the fact there had to be a pay up clause in his contract. Here is a player who was on a multi million contract at Newcastle it's really not likely they'd want a few grand.

Also the number of games played isn't an obvious amount to trigger a clause.

I heard Bigi fell out with Thorn as well. Maybe he was bullied by a fat bald bloke as a kid.

Thorn exiled him after some game so perhaps so.

Seems like Slade's decision to play Bigi was a middle finger to Fisher and Venus for their lack of support during the Jan transfer window. I hope he makes a public statement about the circus that is CCFC.
I reckon he will spill the beans on what's happening behind the scenes SP, Slade doesn't seem the type of guy who will allow himself to be bound by a confidentiality clause

I'd said I'd never heard of the bloke when he joined, I wish it had stayed that way.

A colleague of mine said when he was appointed "If Slade can't save you then you're really fecked." :(

Yup, certainly agree that the links between being a good captain and a good player or being a shouter on the pitch and being a good manager aren't all that clear. Was just raising the point that I have seen a few people comment in the last few weeks about how vocal he was on the pitch when I don't recall this really being the case at all.

after seeing his team selection and tactics first hand I'd say your colleague hasn't got a clue what he's on about.

He's a Cardiff fan and rated him based on his performance there.

Well he didn't improve our form in any way. I thought in all honesty a manager with his reputation would have been a good fit. Apparently not.

Where does this leave us? Surely we've got to look not just at the rest of this season, but for the best fit next season too. Is Ricketts the answer? It's probably what's going to happen to see this season out at least.

It just further demonstrates what a horrendus season this is. And it's not over yet.

It doesn't matter who comes in now. This season is too late to stay up.

Also it doesn't matter who comes in now to build for next season. Most of the squad won't be here and the budget for L2 will be slashed.

It will be another nut job manager who likes working with evil owners that takes it. Same old crap. Some mug will come in saying coventry are a big name and shouldn't be in L2 blah blah blah.

Well we totally deserve to be where we are with Sisu. They are the problem and always will be.

The manager makes no difference under this basketcase regime.
We might as well put a monkey in charge.
We are rotten to the core and with Venus an Fisher still here nothing will change.

Robins did alright. I agree to an extent but I genuinely think we've been good at appointing shit managers. Dowie, Robins, TM and SP all had decent spells.

Owners responsible for choosing shit managers by and large.

Are we in the Guinness book of records?
4 managers in a season?

I think Charlton probably have that one in the bag.
