So, who do we think are the Robins type players here (8 Viewers)

I didn't mind Clarke myself, but he always had a shocking error in him and I think he gave away quite a few penalties too didn't he.

Robins did well for us before because of McGoldrick, pure and simple. He will need to get lucky again with a goal rich striker if he is to be judged a success. He was disappointed with the owners last time he walked, God knows what he will make of them this time around.

Sorry bud, but not how I remember him. He said SISU were not at fault and blamed CCC for all the shit that is/was going on.

Didn't he also say something about lack of assurances from the owners?

Yep, Telegraph site has reused part of his interview from 2013

He said at the time: “It was a considered decision,” said Robins, who alluded to the then rent dispute between the club and Arena Coventry Ltd – the then operators of the Ricoh Arena - and made reference to Coventry City Council.

“I spoke to the owner, I sought assurances and didn’t get any assurances from the owner of Coventry,” he said as he was unveiled today as the Terrier’s fifth manager in as many years.

“I absolutely wish them all the best, they work their socks off and as I’ve said before that club needs support from Coventry City Council .

“That led to a decision to want to speak with Huddersfield and that’s how the decision has been arrived at.”

When pressed about the nature of the assurances he wanted from Coventry, Robins added: “I won’t go into specific detail.

“There are well-documented things about what’s happening down at Coventry. It is a magnificent club. Potentially huge.

“But it needs support to build revenue streams and help from the council.” Robins added: “It’s been the most difficult professional decision I’ve ever had to make, but I feel it’s absolutely the right decision.”

Robins added: "I was happy at Coventry, there’s no doubt about that.

“They’ve been fantastic. But then I got a call saying Huddersfield were interested in speaking to me and I expressed a wish to speak."

Yes he did but also said "SISU worked their socks off" and didn't get any backing from CCC. ie= diverting the blame to CCC. ;)
He actually said "They" worked their socks off. I took that to mean the players and the backroom team, not Sisu. No-one in their right mind would say that Sisu worked their socks off for the good of the club.

I can see the Robins really liking Stevenson, I wouldnt be surprised if he is a mainstay until the end of the season.

I can see Kwame being lone striker and flourishing under the 4,2,3,1 formation.

I think RCC will be his number 1 keeper. I can also see Reid and Jones starting regular on the wings also

Christ, am liking a SBK post or two.

But yeah, much as some would have loved Robins to be anti the owners, he was anti CCC when he left, really.

He also mentions Blair Adams as a player Robins liked. I thought it was weird that we let him go when we did.

I actually think there was an appearance fee we avoided with him. Also his career did nosedive after he left us.

Don't think Bigi is unless he's triggered a new contract.

Correct. His agent has I gather been rather active in the January window. Haynes isn't either and I'm pretty certain rose isn't.

Did the googling:

RCC (2018)
Addai, Maycock, Leahy, Shipley (option for another year in clubs favour)
Willis (2018)
Turnbull (2019)
Harries (2020)
Jones (2020)
Reid (2018)
Finch (maybe, maybe not. Can't find anything since he signed a deal up to last summer)
Stevenson (2020)
Sayoud (2018)
K Thomas (2018)
Beavon (2018)

That's your lot. Everyone else up at the end of the season.

I'd like to see......
RCC
Willis, Turnbull, Haynes
G Thomas,Jones, Stevenson, Reid
Lameiras
Beavon, K Thomas

Haynes in the centre of defence and Thomas and Reid as wingbacks?

Lameries in the hole is the best place I agree. A very deep hole.

i think k thomas could do really well as lone striker in 4-5-1. hes fast, not a lightweight even though lanky and he gets in good positions in box.
