I have to admit that this isn't one of mine, but a friend took this shot a day or so ago.
I know where it was taken so I'm going to try for a few myself.

A canon 600D great camera and i use my 300 mm lens a awful lot it has IS on it as well.
I agree. They're a great camera. I use my 70 - 300mm lens most of the time for outdoor stuff, but stick to the 18 - 55mm for indoors and close-up work.

Thats a great shot very hard to do i would of thought
Believe it or not, this was taken on a phone camera! These red squirrels are extremely friendly apparently. That's why I want to try to capture a few myself.
***Edit *** When I say "capture a few", I mean take a few shots, not catch a squirrel!

was it really raining that day
dont remember that at all - remember the sunshine of wembley
Look at the road surface in my picture. Yep. It had been raining on that day when City did the open-top tour. May have stopped by the time they came past though.

Here's a memory from 1987, after the greatest day in City's history! Me, waiting for the players on the open top bus to come along Ansty Rd. That was just at the junction with Wyken Croft.

More into video than photography Houch, but if we're doing "that day", here's me two to the left from my bro in law (holding the cup), just about to board the coach from the Minstral Boy. Father in law took the photo, he had a good camera but only used it for snaps and landscapes.

I've been visiting relatives in Cov last couple of weeks. We went to Ashow where my Great-Grandad is buried, and I noticed a lonely purple flower growing. I didn't have my Nikon D3200 on me, so I took this with my Samsung Galaxy S7

A mate of mine was a regular in the "Minstrel Boy" for years. He died of heart failure aged just 40. His name was Tony Ford. Did you know him?

Sorry to hear about that, 40 is no age to have that happen.

No I didn't know him Houch I wasnt a regular... I was a relative of Pete King, the landlord at the time, so we blagged a couple of seats.

Amazed at the quality of my daughters snaps last weekend at the Ricoh.
Made mine on my Sony experia look pathetic.
A wipe of the lense may have helped though.
There's a photography show on at the NEC currently, I was surrounded by amazing Nikon kit yesterday but wouldn't have a Scooby. :-(

Nice odds for a 2-1 score line! Damn! Wish I'd have stuck to my guns and risked a few bob! I'd predicted score that in my head all bloody day!!

Bird in tree in my back garden (Goldfinch?):

I'm not sure that's a goldfinch Gazolba? Cracking photo, but the colours of the feathers don't seem strong enough for a goldfinch, although I may be totally wrong! I snapped one a few days ago..........

I posted this pic on an Isle of Wight Nature group's page (hope you don't mind!). As well as a good few "likes", one or two are saying it's either a Wood Warbler or Siskin. Hope this helps in your identification. By the way, I use a great site for checking birds (but on this occasion, I come a bit unstuck!) .......

Might bust out the canon I got the wife but never gets used
You should Nick. It's a great pastime! You never know what you will snap. Just take yourself (and family) off out into the country somewhere. There are some fabulous sights to be seen. Make a picnic day out of it. Kenilworth Castle grounds, or St Nicholas Park in Warwick. What Canon do you have?

Mine may not be a Goldfinch but I think yours is a Bullfinch is it not?
I will post some more local bird photos later but bear in mind I'm in Arizona, USA so you may not find the birds in your UK books.

I can't remember the exact model, was only about 300.

Was thinking swimming baths changing rooms etc.

On a serious note, some really good photos.

Bugger! No wonder I couldn't find it on the British birds site! Btw, Mine is definitely a goldfinch.
