Well that's a different point, I would argue Westwood, Kirkland and Fullop all improved here. Konstantopolopus went on to better things too.

You then have to ask is it oggy's coaching or is Burge and RCC just not good enough? Is the whole recruitment / academy coaching etc not good enough in the keeper department? Whilst I wouldn't be upset if oggy left, I don't get why everything is always his fault.

Not from my memory but I did hate him so may be a bit blinkered, I actually stopped going at the end of his career until they picked Hedman

Ha. He came for a few, but usually came 1/2 way to the ball, and then stopped and tried to get back leaving him stranded.

Any time you see highlights of old games, there's usually a clip of oggy doing just that.

Yep, Kirkland, Westwood, Murphy all crap and didn't improve a bit whilst at the club.

When it comes to RCC and Burge I'd look at the raw material that the coach has to work with rather than necessarily criticise Oggy. Either way I'd settle for an average experienced keeper rather than a kid with potential all day long. Burge and RCC may yet turn out to be good keepers, but I'd rather they learnt their trade and made their mistakes elsewhere.

Kirkland wasn't one of Oggys, westwood was a fantastic keeper but I felt improved miles AFTER he left the City! And Murphy was average at best. Only improved/looked better when we were relegated and he was playing league 1 football. Always looked out of his depth in the championship to me. Shown by the fact he left us for a championship club and in 3 seasons has made less than 20 league appearances and is now on loan back in league 1

It might be because of my age but I assumed Blyth was dead. In my mind he's part of city's brilliant past that I wasn't a part of and had long since deceased. He's even more of a legend now that he hates Burge.

I get it that players lose confidence but Burge has been around the first team for four seasons now and has consistently been utter dog shit so it can't be confidence its simply lack of ability.

Oggy was the same as Burge with crosses looks good on the ones he comes for without a challenge but the rest is the same when he didn't come out. But overall Oggy is by far so superior to Burge

Most definitely. Glazier was far, far superior. Oggy was a great shot stopper, but his kicking was poor and he wasn't brilliant on crosses, quite often flapping a lot.

Glazier by far the best keeper I have ever seen.

Huge mistake letting Marshall go. He would've been a really good asset as a coach. Turned up at academy training some nights off his own back to help out with the keepers from U8s, all the way through to youth.

I know it is just an opinion and I loved Bill Glazier but whatever his shortcomings as coach should not deflect from Oggy's excellence as a keeper for a long period of time.
Yes his distribution was poor but you must remember the back pass and kicking rule changes came during Oggys career.
As much a my favorite goalkeeper was Glazier and always will be, the best was Oggy.

I think he was still only 22 when he left to play for Chelsea. George Curtis made his debut as a 16 year old when Matthews was our No. 1 keeper. And we make excuses now because our team is so young.

I cannot believe Burge has been selected in front of RCC. Who makes the decision? You would think that whilst Robins has overall responsibility, his decision would be heavly influenced by Oggy.
Really don't get it. They must have compete lack of faith in RCC to play Burge in front of him.
