Ooops!!

I did deals with people on here for tickets, who paid me by bank transfer and they didn't know me.

I must have a trustworthy (but smashable) face.

Same for me, was he a regular poster? Scum of the earth

I never forget a face, but in your case I'll be glad to make an exception.
(sorry couldn't resist)

you will easily find otis on April 2nd on the 8.31 to euston
and the 8.52, 9.13, 9.45. 10.02, 10.22, 10.45..............................
Only trouble is, if I am on the 8.52 I can't also be on the 9.13, as I think we would just be passing Milton Keynes and 8.52 would just be approaching Leyton Buzzard as the 9.45 would be sweeping out of Coventry.

I could get the 8.31 though and possibly make the 10.45 too. ;)

Just a further update. My son went to knock the door of the address on the Driving Licence last night. The home owners were obviously shocked that someone had used their address in the scam. (Happens to be a poster on here) I won't post the DL on here as I don't want the address going public for his sake. All evidence has now been passed to the police to further the investigation. Thanks to Nick, Mark at CCFC for all their assistance and let's hope the shitty scammer low life gets tracked down and has a little visit from the them. Also a big thank you to Rich for kindly offering replacement tickets at no charge. You are a legend!!

Jesus Christ they've even used a posters address in the scam, man that is terrible. Some street justice wouldn't go a miss before this guy is caught by the police!

It's all good mate. I had loads of generous offers to help me out with tickets. I've sorted this with richnrg a poster on here and Wembley here we come. I'm coming up from London the day before just to travel back down on the train as I'm sure it'll bring back a few good memories from '87

good stuff. i was gonna say i can buy 1 more ticket from my allocation if you need it

Glad you got sorted.

How did he get flagged up as suspicious in the first place, Nick?

Was it just him being a first time poster, or was there something else?

It was obvious because he signed up for it so I put a warning. He sent me ticket screenshots of his order so I made sure I put a warning about him as the ticket screenshot looked legit.

Would always recommend doing it in person, bank transfer is asking for trouble :( Even Paypal gives better backup.

Again, ooops then.

I got tickets for two fellow posters on here and asked them to pay by bank transfer as i thought it was the safest method.

A few fake Pay Pal scams around isn't there? Pay Pay concerns me a bit. Had a few mails purporting to be from Pay Pal when they haven't been.

There are fake emails flying around all the time. But to send someone money on PayPal you just need to put their email address in and that's it. PayPal have their own dispute process so if things go wrong you have a bit of protection compared to a bank transfer

Fooking outragious surely some one knows how to get hold of this fooker. Let me the the first to confront the c**t and explain good reason and civility.
All PM`s will be treated with confidentiality. Gloves, balaclavas and axe handles will not be used during daylight hours.Standing on hands and razor blades on the back of knee caps are also ways of people paying back small debts.
Been about with a few villains and this is childs play.
*Im sure its all a misunderstanding but if it comes to it no doubt its not the first time they have done it*

Small payday, £120 wasn't it.
Unless of course he's used the tickets to pull the same scam multiple times,
Would make more sense.
Either way, what a wanker.

I am afraid I too have fallen for this scam. He got in touch with me, and exactly the same things happened as above - sent driving licence, address etc - I even chatted to him on the phone for about 20 mins. He seemed so genuine that I fell for it, in my excitement and desperation to get tickets before they sold out.

I have been a complete idiot.

What's the first thing I should do here guys? I know I won't get the cash back - I'm more worried about the fact that he's got my bank account details (from the transfer), my address - to send the tickets, my mobile number from the phone call, and my name.

I have been up all night worrying- just wondering what to do first.

Thanks in advance.
