So for the millionth time Sisu distress CCC to get the stadium for fook all.
CCC have a duty to 360 000 rate payers whom 5500 are season ticket holders. Err now that leaves 354 500 tax payers with no vested interest in CCFC. They couldnt give a fook about what happens but turn up at Wembley when it suits.
Sisu rubbed everyone up the wrong way, agreed a £330k a year deal but reneged. They knew the £1.2M deal per year before they took everyone's shares.
Then its the "never returning to the Ricoh again" threat that left CCC with no option with a huge 32600 seater white elephant of a stadium.
Wasps out played Sisu and here we are. No point complaining about deals when Sisu never wanted to pay a fair price to the rate payers of the City whos money is invested in the bricks and mortar.
Sad but now no one wants to deal with them as they are toxic and about to fall on their sword. They are about £30M down and grasping at straws.........
Oh and Fisher said Robins came back as he is on board about the Butts prospect happening. Fook me thin ice there and wont be long before he fooks off again looking for a more secure job!

Good summary. Your highlighted section is key. It was absolutely ridiculous for SISU to refuse to pay the agreed rental figure once they'd got their hands on the club, regardless of whether anyone thinks that figure was unreasonable, or indeed, extortionate. I'm amazed that anyone thinks it was a legitimate move to make. If their financial projections didn't flag up that the rent would cause them difficulties, then you have to question their competence to run a business.

If I rented a property at an extortionate rate that left me bankrupt twice and the landlord refused to listen to a reduction But told me I could buy it for 40 years and then gave it to some bloke from London for half the price for 250 years I'd feel like suing.

Think it is quite standard practice if someone is suing you in business. You don't talk to them unless you really have to. Especially if they need you more than you need them. Then you would be really dumb if you did.

To be fair non of us know what was agreed to get us back here. Maybe Sisu said they would do this that and the other but changed their mind. Say Sisu won the next court case and got £5 M compo. If Sisu dropped all proceedings surely that would open the way to another £120K a year deal and maybe a good deal on F&B? Instead Wasps are now going to play hard ball and want as much as possible for rent (say £400k) plus very little on F&B to us. Short term business by Sisu if so as over a few years that money will be used up and the club will be less desirable to sell with a crippling rental deal with no other viable income.
People need to sit down and say what they want and then lets have it in writing so we can see who is being unreasonable. The only stumbling block I can see is CCFC have fook all to bargain about as we are homeless and can only play second fiddle to Wasps and CRFC unfortunatley and thats the fault of our owners previous business plan.

Regardless of the SISU court action and the chequered history, there is a serious danger the (only) football team that represents the City will no longer have a home, which will only have further disastrous consequences for Coventry City FC.

The fact 40,000+ fans are making the trip to Wembley should highlight to the Council the support that exists for the team. Why wouldn't they, for the sake of the people they represent, want to reach a conclusion to ensue the football team that has represented Coventry for over a century, has a future. Especially when they proactively sold the stadium built for said team to a London franchise.

It is clear SISU are not ideal bed partners (to put it mildly), but surely the increasing severity of the situation the club is in, is reason enough to at least put all egos aside and try to work something/anything out to help the club.

Coventry City Council is almost as responsible as SISU, if not equally. They fleeced the club charging & 140,000 per month - almost £2m, which West Ham pay now in Premier. Ipswich pay £140,000 too, but a year, not a month. Coventry City Council and ACL distressed CCFC and sent them into the hands of SISU. Actually therefore Coventry City Council and ACL are most responsible. Fat greedy Brummie Councillors and 'Executives' sat on their fat greedy arses getting loads of cash doing nothing. The Council have a duty to the citizens of Coventry and have failed. Where did all the money go? Protest outside the Council. They are trying to get the matches played behind closed doors. They are intent on killing the club.

We are running out of time to do something. Fishers last statement didn't tally with the CRFC statement. So now to buy time he tries something else. This joke is getting worse by the day. If SISU don't drop JR2 even CRFC won't deal with our club. And they won't have anything to do with SISU. To me Fisher is just after something else to blame someone else now we can see that it is drop the JR or have someone else that won't talk to him.

that's not actually true and I deal daily with a company that we are going to court against.
That dispute is in the hands of the respective legal teams and the rest of us carry on with business as usual. It's a quite different situation to be honest but it just shows that companies in dispute still do business.

We're never going to get a deal as good as the current one under wasps, so the legal action will have little to do with it. Wasps are a completely different animal to the former owners of ACL and have their own significant financial pressures so will eek out as much from the football club as possible.

The rental payments were too high for us. The ground was too big for us. CCC shouldn't have bothered getting a stadium built for us.

But the rental payments were to pay for the mortgage needed to fit the stadium out. And we had a half share given to us. Would have been good if it would have been paid off. Then even better if we would have paid for the other half instead of making an agreement and not gone back on it wanting the taxpayer to pay off the mortgage for a hedge fund to benefit from. It shouldn't have been met by the tax payer. We shouldn't have sold HR when we didn't have a pot to piss in.

I love Coventry City but I hate the way that the owners have destroyed the complete fabric of a once good if not great institution.
Yes they picked up a failed business but you can't be content with the way they have handled the affairs of CCFC since then. Can you?
I know there are two sides to each argument and I do accept that others have played their part in our outcomes but it is time to grovel to those involved and secure the future before we are begging others to help us.

You are right though, it does play into Fisher's hands and hardly helps the council's case if for whatever reason the FL are approached for a move to Sixfields or something. When all the councillor's come out of the woodwork saying "we need to keep CCFC here" then they will just look silly.
