I don't think that's fair really. I thought Slade was a good appointment at the time and was the right man for the job. Other people thought the same.

The owners are at fault for an awful lot but arguments like this really weaken our credibility when trying to highlight their incompetence for so much else.

I think SISU are waiting till we are mathmetically relegated before going into administration- which will lead to a point deduction and send us back to the bottom.

Avoiding relegation would be great, but think SISU would just file for administration at the start of next season instead, so would be starting on -10.

Or worst case we get relegated and SISU file for administration at the start of next season anyway....

Speculation of course

Totally agree. Many seem to be forgetting this now. When Slade came in most on here were urging an end to "pretty pretty" football and more of the style (if I can call it that) he is known for. I felt the same way myself at the time.

He came close to having two good wins on the bounce himself v Peterborough and Bolton, and can hardly be blamed for the last minute goals that robbed us of wins.Who knows, things might have gone differently after that if we`d picked up wins in those games. Football is often about momentum and as Otis pointed out there are often fine margins between success and failure.

I`m not suggesting for a moment that he should have been kept on given the way things were going, but I think we should keep a sense of proportion.

No chance, we are dead and buried, but I do think we will improve just enough for
Mark Robins to cause enough of a stir too attract an offer or two from proper clubs.
At which point we will have served our purpose.

Not only do we have to win every game others have lose most of theirs, bottom line for me is not to finish bottom. Let's not forget the reason we are where we are, that prize prick Tim Fisher, don't let him off the hook

The points total needed to stay up this year will be 50-52 points. The most we can get is 50, but our appalling goal difference means we're effectively a point behind.

Even then the chances of us getting to 50 points are pretty much zero. In our entire history we have never won more than 6 games consecutively. We would need to win 8 consecutively to get to 50 points.

That would make this Coventry city team the best in our history. Does anyone believe that when the current league table suggests this team is the worst in our football league history?

Players pushing for a starting place at Wembley?

Or they've accepted we're down so are now playing without pressure?

Comparable to a boy doing all his homework 5 minutes before the lesson and expecting full marks. Let's at least not finish bottom for pride's sake.

Yep, definitely a very significant factor.

You have to also look to the influence Robins has had on the team. We look more organised and a better disciplined unit under his tenure, but the lure of a Wembley place and playing with a bit of freedom knowing we are are down is definitely a major contributor.

Too many factors needed for us to stay up but I will take not finishing bottom & 6 wins on the trot going into next season would get on the ground up and running for next season. Look at Bristol Rovers momentum took them to 2 promotions and nearly a play off place and they are not a really good team but play well together

No. If the teams from Port Vale up average just 1 pt per game (worse than they've managed this season so far) they all get 50 or more points.
If we drop just one point we can no longer get 50 pts, even to get that requires form that is better than Sheff Utd have managed in any 6 games this season.

Are you getting the picture?

Need to win every game, then hope Shrewsbury drop an awful lot of points, next up in the league is Sheff Utd away.

No chance.

If we do put together a run I can see Robins getting an offer elsewhere and he decides to clear off like last time.
