Amateur. That's going to warm up an already warm set of beers.
It will be warm anyway
Unless you are getting a posh seat with a plug socket and take a mini fridge.

I don't know why I'm getting involved. I'm driving from Bristol.Northampton and MK go into Euston. Northampton is served by London Midland only - I will be on the 8.53 from Northampton - no other Coventry fans are allowed on this one. .
Do the Warwick parkway trains not go through oxford?

We're on that one too, see you on the platformNorthampton and MK go into Euston. Northampton is served by London Midland only - I will be on the 8.53 from Northampton - no other Coventry fans are allowed on this one. .
Speckled hen on the go - I shan't be far from the toilets near carriage BWe're on that one too, see you on the platform
No mate, on the way down they're direct on a different line. On the way back there might be crossover of fans at Beaconsfield and somewhere else where there's a change required. I can't see any that actually go through Oxford and onto Warwick, I think Oxford and Oxford Parkway sit on a separate branch of the line.
Both lines meet just out of Bicester.
Is that where it goes down? The posher version of "straight out of compton"
If you are driving from Bristol are you aware that the M4 is closed this w/e between Newbury and ReadingI don't know why I'm getting involved. I'm driving from Bristol.
If anybody is worried you could be better going to Leicester Northampton or mk and getting the train to kings cross.
I'm going to be up at 4am like a kid at Christmas anyway so it will only be a minor inconvenienceIf you are driving from Bristol are you aware that the M4 is closed this w/e between Newbury and Reading
Warwick is on the same line as Bicester North. So stops there. Thats where I'm getting on. As Oxford parkway will be a nightmare.
I think chiltern have put on extra trains so no need to change lines on some trains. But don't quote me on that
Heres the time table https://www.chilternrailways.co.uk/...don-HighWycombe-Oxford-Birmingham-FINAL_0.pdf
Oxford is end of the line on a separate branch of track. Both lines meet just out of Bicester.
I'm getting the Chiltern line from Oxford as that's where I'll be on Satruday night. I fully don't expect to get a seat, but it has to be applauded the organisation that the company has put into this. They've made the price fair and put loads of extra trains on. As one poster rightly pointed out, the Warwick Parkway and Oxford trains take a separate route too.
It's still going to be absolutely rammed but everyone should get there and back. I can't vouch for Coventry, as Virgin have been pretty quiet, but I think it'll be ok. A few beers (or 20), and the journey will fly past.
Virgin have put no extra trains on, and some Coventry City fans have blamed the club for it. The £225m net public subsidy they get clearly isn't enough to put on an extra train or too.

If they haven't then that's an absolute shambles.
Chiltern will make a fortune out of the day as well.

Chiltern have put on extra trains. They have done the responsible thing so deserve their profit from it.
and you are right. Coventry station is open 24hrs a day including Sundays, the ticket office and customer services are open from 6.00 am. See National Rail Enquiries - Station facilities for Coventry ...Staffing and Services.I smell bullshit! Cov trains won't even touch Warwick parkway (different operator and different lines) ??
At this rate the punters from Oxford are going to be facing trains full of City supporters who have taken all the seats and are singing already.
Bloody hell I hope there isn't a change at Beaconsfield. I'm driving there on Sunday and getting the train in direct, as there and back the trains start/end at Wycombe and so I thought they would be pretty empty. If the station is now going to be rammed with Oxford fans I may have to change my plans...that will teach me to try to be a clever bastard

That, my friend, is an excellent point. Should be interesting!
When I looked at it a while back it seemed to suggest that some trains coming back from Wembley Stadium station would require a change at Beaconsfield for Warwick. That might have changed now because Chiltern do seem switched onto this. Trains from Warwick in the morning all seem to be direct to Wembley, no changes, and no going through Oxford.
Hmmmm. Englishing football supporting.just rang Virgin to ask what arrangements had been made for Sunday as it's going to be bedlam, told me not to worry you have a reserved seat and if any one sits in it you can tell them to move. I don't think the Indian call centre have been briefed about the mindset of your average English football supporter!
