So Peterborough,Walsall and Charlton at Home.
Scunny, Sheff Utd and Rochdale away.

Those 3 home games very winnable.

Rochdale winnable.

But most would take draws at Utd and Scunty.

Puts us on 46 points.

Looking at the table- Gillingham, Oldham and Port Vale already on 45 and need only get a point (along with our awful goal difference) from 6 games.

Bury already on 46 and Charlton 47.

If we win tomorrow I might start believing but it's a massive ask considering we have only ever won 6 games on the trot in our history.

Although I have a gut feeling that we may head to Scunthorpe and the last game of the season needing a win to stay up.......

lets hope Scuntythorpe are well ensconsed into a playoff position then so their players will try and protect themselves for the play off games

Its a big ask to win the 6 games but also for Shrewsbury , Oldham etc not to get the required points to get them over the 50 point line
however i will be happy if the City can make all the teams above us Arses sqeeking until the end of the season

Funny you say Rochdale is winnable, we've not beaten them in the league for over 50 years!

I have no real expectation for the last few games, be nice to win a few of them, be nice not to finish rock bottom at least.

Realistically need five wins out of six, then hope and pray about the other teams. Have to assume the best against Sheff Utd will be a draw, then must win all the rest. Memories of end-of-season 1985 anyone ?

you're normally a level headed, thought provoking poster FB but I think on this occasion your letting your heart rule your head.

No way we'll be in with a shout come Scunthorpe, (of course I would be absolutely delighted to end up with egg on my face over this one).

I think we will get relegated tomorrow night, but let's just try and get off the bottom and finish on a positive.

We're going down but it would be good to go down with a decent bit of form. I've no doubt Robins is the man to bring us back up next season.
Agree unfortunately. I just really fucking hope we come up straight away. I feel like if we don't come up in 1 or 2 seasons we will just end sliding down the leagues

You've just got to hope that the money from the cup run goes straight into player recruitment, this would mean more season tickets sold which we can use to strengthen the squad further leaving us with a great league 2 team. We can hope.

what makes survival unrealistic is we have to rely on other teams losing. not the best way to stay up even if you win 6/6. some escape tho. for me we r down.

We dont want the following to get to 50 points because as of this moment thats the max we can get:

Charlton to get 3 more points from 6
Bury 4 more points from 5
Port Vale 5 more points from 7
Oldham 5 more points from 5
Gillinghan 5 more points from 5
Shrewsbury 7 more points from 6
Swindon 8 more points from 5
Chesterfield 16 more points from 5
Coventry need 18 more points and the above not to get the required points from their remaining games

big ask but having seen Shrewsbury & Gillingham play they looked fooked if you ask me their confindence is totally shot
so for every game they lose it will give us daylight apart from CCFC games i will be looking at these two teams results

There is no chance of winning 6 in a row (which would then be 8)

For the record though gillingham have lost 4 in a row and have tough games coming. They and Shrewsbury may not get to 50

there is mathematical chance otherwise we would be relegated :)

<snip>
There's also a mathematical chance that we are all figments of our own imagination.

150/1 to stay up with Skybet...

bet365 aren't taking any odds of it :(, sadly as I was tempted after Wembley to put a sneaky one on. Lets face it we never do anything easy.
That said, pretty much resigned myself to going down, I don't think I could take it if we actually did stay up.

We are all looking way to far ahead of ourselves. The other teams are not doing great and are essentially averaging at around 1 point a game... but with every game they lose the harder it is for them to get to 50 points as well.

For me its a case of 1 game at a time. We cannot afford to even draw one game, because the second we do that then it is mathematical that we can be relegated in our next game if other results go against us. All we can do is keep winning... alas I suspect after tonight "that will be that" and we will be looking back at those last minute goals against us and thinking "if only..."

Agree with other posters that we have to take some form into the start of next year, and who knows...
