if SISU had dealt honestly with the council from day one we would have the Ricoh arena not wasps so who's to blame

No we wouldn't. A senior figure at the time thought the club were a huge obstacle that prevented it from rivalling the NEC.

He convinced the council this was a big money earner and would be a huge success.

Was going to say myself , that had ccc been honest and upfront from the day it was built , wasps wouldn't be here either.
This hasn't just been a SISU issue the last decade, it has been ( as Grendel says) or was ,a spectacular failed attempt to make money off somebody else's dream.

The fact that we're hailing Hoffman (vice chairman under sisu) and Elliot (the man who went round people's houses to take their shares of them for sisu) as potential saviours shows the absolute state we're in.

When Sisu first took over, like most City fans, I was pleased. I thought it was a new beginning with wealthy owners. Did you realise and say at the time what a disaster Sisu were going to be? Elliot and Hoffman involved in the running of the club or continue with Sisu? You would sooner have Sisu? Both Elliot and Hoffman jumped ship fairly early on in Sisu's tenure once they had realised what was going on. Both are genuine City fans who travel home and away. It would be good to have a complete break from the past but the ultimate goal at the moment should surely be getting rid of Sisu and having someone in charge with the best interests of CCFC.

As for the rest, move on from Elliot (especially) and Hoffman.

They've been part of the problem, so why the hell would we want anybody from past boards back, when they've caused the mess?!?

Why the hell can't we have a new broom, with new owners and new board members untainted by incompetence and ineptitude?

Who in their right mind would settle for same old, same old?!?

I was pleased when they took over as they had lots of nice sound bites unfortunately they have been a total disaster.

The only benefit has been they have taught me loads of new things I had no idea about hedge funds(still don't know much), judicial reviews how to go into admin to suit yourself and employ your pal and so much more.

But I think I have learnt enough now so Sepalla fuck off back under your stone.

It's a fucking stupid question. Only a few sad bitter CCFC fans who want to blame anyone but Sisu think Wasps are "unethical". The link is more tenuous than a very tenuous thing. There are no protests against Wasps, most people have no issue with them being here. It's just a crutch those desperate to blame others for our predicament cling on to.

It's really sad.

Wasps being here can be directly linked to Sisu taking us to Northampton. It is down to Sisu that they are here. However I think that they are as much of a franchise as MK Dons and have left the communities in which they started and who supported and kept them going. They have no affinity or connection to this area and are simply here because of an opportunistic business deal. I hope that in the long run they fail and that we can get back the stadium that was built for us.

Because the chances of anybody other than them , or persons known to them buying this club is virtually nil.

The thing with Elliott what annoys some people, is the claims he made at the time of the takeover, that sisu were the only show in town. That was never tested, the vested interests of the previous owners wouldn't allow us go into administration because of the millions they were owned. So we ended up with 400 grand a year ranson and sisu.
Saying that, I'm sure he's a big fan of the club and a decent bloke, never met the fella.

Like others - seen him at away games, and he gave me a free ticket for digging snow off Highfield Rd pitch (with others) to enable game (M'boro?) to go ahead. Seems genuine supporter.

Only because people lazily bring them up as the only option!

It's as bad as saying SISU are and were our only option.
As far as we are aware sisu are not actively looking to sell , you must agree that is is highly unlikely that anyone with no connections to this city at all would contemplate buying it , especially with 10 years + of negative press.
I'm not saying they should run it , but we certainly need them and the likes of them , to draw potential buyers in.

Elliott is alright to run promotional events and glad hand visitors but a top notch business strategist he ain't.

the problem is NW that any hard nosed business person looking to buy a football club is unlikely to touch us with a barge pole.
I think it needs someone with emotional attachment to push things along. GH and JE are probably the only two with any connections and with any attachment to the club whatever their previous misdemeanours.

wouldn't disagree with that and if there is anything to these latest rumours then I wouldn't imagine his role is anything beyond waxing lyrical about CCFC and pressing a bit of flesh.

Would rather have Brian McFadden or Frankie Muniz...

Would anybody have heard of Hoffman if he wasn't SISU's first vice-chairman? (incidentally, there were often statements he was Robinson's son-in-law, I assume this was nonsense?)

As for Elliott, what connections could he come up with that other reasonably successful local businessmen couldn't?!? I'd say the fact we can't reel off a list is an advantage, it shows they don't have a profile by virtue of being associated with the dismal failure of our football club!

The only reason they have a profile is because of their failures.

can't really disagree with your assessment, but I'm still hoping there's something in the rumours which tells you a) how desperate we are and b) how gullible I am!

A legally agreed rent which SISU agreed to.

I thought Wasps only came on the scene when SISU took the club to Northampton?

I believe there was talk a lot by the present owner before he bought Wasps, but who really knows.
It fits in with the forums theme though that it's the councils fault.

If Wasps leave it won't be ours either.
If Sisu ever got round to buy it after they leave it won't be ours either.

Just have to wait and see. Hopefully, new owners coming in can buy a % off Wasps or if Wasps go bust, they can buy the Ricoh for CCFC.

Who knows what SISU would do with the Ricoh if they owned it.

If new owners were going to buy the club and the Ricoh why not just buy the club and build a new stadium for the same price?
On the same thing , why don't Sisu do that ?
