Nope, they couldn't turn that down.

Although I would look to see if there was any dodgy small print while everybody is getting worked up to see if that was 1p up front and the rest after the champions league final....
Nick, you don't need to tease this particular thread along, it seems to have gathered momentum all on its own . :beaver:

Teasing something by saying to look past the headline and get as much info as possible to judge things?

What game is Hoffman playing, how do you know he is playing a game, why is he playing a game, what will he get out of it?

Everybody is playing games, both sides, media.

Did you not notice him say he wanted to do things privately but then go to the telegraph with news about the latest offer?

I don't think that's fair. Nothing wrong with asking questions or questioning the bid. Doesn't mean those that do are SISU Lovers or some other silly label.

he didnt call anyone a sisu lover did he?

even now nick is condesending, acting like only he or his "likes" mates are smart enough to look at the bigger picture

sisu are shit owners, we would have to be very unlucky to get worse. and its a gamble i would take regardless tbh. slow death or quick death. its still death. take a chance on life for ccfc i say

When the first domino falls the rest all just fall into place.
Time to pick your side ?

I'm on the side of the football club. Whose side are you on? Nicky needs that sponsorship doesn't he?

I mean the cynic in me says that he's possibly asked someone on this forum to try and get things moving as it means pound notes for Nicky.

It's suggested some pound notes are needed by Nicky pretty sharpish.

Hang on, apparently an improved offer has been submitted that it is believed SISU will find difficult to turn down....let's hope it is something worth getting behind

That said, for Hoffman to complain about SISU going public on his first offer but going public himself on his second doesn't help his credibility.....

The thought that crosses my mind is how strong is the finance behind the bid? It seems to me that the increase in bid is based on asking the fans to stump up and offering something that in reality is very unlikely to happen. If the intention was to involve the fans why not do it from the off? I do not doubt the good intentions in making the bid but ......

If the financing is short now how will the working capital requirement be met? how do they finance a push up the divisions. To cover the bid and initial working capital you are going to need at least £5m I would guess. Succeed in L2 and there is a performance payment of £250k to find at a time your costs will increase

Could be reading it all wrong of course but these latest details actually give me more doubts. Simply not enough details to make my mind up up on this or answer the doubts

Why are they releasing stuff via a random guy on facebook then claiming to be professional in interviews in CT. If the bid is so robust why does it need the fans to be stirred in to a frenzy?

I hope someone is successful in getting rid of SISU, but I don't think they are close to selling judging by the speed of rejections and reluctance to meet

Of course not, and I'm not saying that for a minute. I completely understand the need to ask questions.

That said, there's a time and a place to scrutinise, and being overly negative (which I am seeing) is not going to help support the takeover.

It isn't being overly negative, it's asking questions and not being overly positive.

That looks like a solid plan for tonight.

No, it's a leap of faith from you that it is a change of direction. All we know is that he bid £500k. We know nothing more about it.
Yes, he's a Coventry fan (I've not seen him at an away game for some time), but he was on the board previously and didn't cover himself in glory then.
How much of an impact did he have on the board? Do people really think he got to dictate much above Joy? I highly doubt he had much say about the way our club was/is being run.

Then again this John bloke said a deal had already been agreed in principle which it hadn't? Maybe he's not that reliable either

We can ask questions, that's cool. Believe me I will be holding Hoffman and his crew to account.

Right now we need to get rid of SISU though, and I don't think there is a way forward with them, and I don't think there will be a better chance to do that than the one we have now.

Even I don't think this bid is perfect, but I believe we have to support it if the club is to have a future.

He may have had limited influence, yet he still happily sat on the board for 4 years, doesn't do him any credit either way.

Why isn't the time and a place to scrutinise now? After all whatever we say isn't going to affect the outcome, is it?

I don't think anyone is being negative they are just asking questions. Why shouldn't they?

This kind of thing doesn't happen everyday so why shouldn't there be discussion? Don't get it myself.

Yes, but asking questions will help know if it will get rid of them surely?

If a fan asking questions about it causes that much of a stir what will SISU do to it?

Sisu's policy has been one of cutting costs, cutting infrastructure, cutting ties to the community. Do you really think that a group putting money in are going to shoot themselves in the foot and continue with those polices? Even if Hoffman group are not very effective that is still better than what amounts to a deliberate dismantlement of our club.

What did he do while on the board that was bad? (Genuinely don't know)

What does that even mean? You're a strange fish at times

Somebody said I wouldnt back a massive bid.
I said I would but would still ask questions and want as much info as possible.
You said I didnt need to push the thread along?

Think back to when SISU came in...

Nobody is saying they will be 100% worse, it however doesn't mind it should be blindly backed as they aren't SISU and without any information.
