If you were thorn. (8 Viewers)

Thorn could be a legend, but not as manager

He could leave his post, as it has to be the hardest in football management, become a whistle blower and tell us all how bad SISU are and that would create more media exposure on us and ruin SISU.

DO IT THORN AND DO IT NOW:p

There is only one thing in life that disappoints me more than SISU and that's a thread by Glen

Would you tell sisu to stick it? He and our club are the laughing stock of the league, surely the guy has got some self respect and should be thinking about his future career? I know he's been shafted by sisu but surely we should have more than 4 wins by now? If we do get taken over he will be gone anyway.Who's going to employ him in the future especially with a relegation on his cv? Andy thorn, nice guy but out of his depth.Do the honourable thing and resign.

Thing is valiant, who would employ him? maybe as a scout but would he want management now?
As you say although he may have been shafted we should have more than 4 wins and that may go against him if he want's to stay in management, he may also be a stubborn git (don't know him to say he is).

Would I do it in my job? I work in a car factory Andy thorn has been in football all his life,I imagine he isn't short of a few quid therefore he can afford to tell them to stick it. Bit of a difference there really. Ichan,I like thorn but I think he should quit now for exactly that reason,he shouldn't taint his cv anymore.

Thorn played football when there wasn't massive amounts of money, and being a scout for Coventry wouldn't exactly be a highly paid job so I would imagine he can't really afford it.

May be stubborn being an ex crazy gang member, don't know the answer Valiant, 4 wins just is not good enough though as you say but being a nice bloke (if he is don't know) is not going to save us sadly.

The way I look at it, what is there to lose by changing the manager and having a go at survival with someone new, nothing can get any worse.

I think Thorn is not a manager. However is position is not helped by this club selling off our better players and leaving him with such problems he now even has to resurrect Eastwood.
Do think a decent experienced manager would make a better go of it and motivate to get the best from what we have and possibly save our skins. That change should have happened several games back.
It's a double edged sword. Manager is not much good and SISU have failed to do what is needed to keep the club in with a chance by investing in a player or two that everyone and his dog knows is required.
All rather bizarre.
Can only suppose they are hanging in with the hope an investment comes close to what they can accept. i.e. Hoffman's current talks to lead to a solution that will fly.
It may be too late before then.

Of course he wont jump-- he will probably get 100k if they push him and keep a tidy salary if they dont. Plus there is no where to jump to!--

What would you do?

SISU wont invest anything in this club- including paying Thorn off. They will asset strip what they can and put us into admin-- then get the eff out.
They had a window when they could have decided to invest to keep us in the Division and sell on at a higher price-- they chose not to.

of course he wont get that much, he is on a 1 year contract just to tide SISU over on as little cost as possible until they jump ship. The man is out of his depth, SISU have caused this however...

We should be at least 20 points better off with this brilliant and experienced squad. It's all Andy Thorn's fault clearly.

Good question and i've thought about it a lot and my answer is--

Play 3,4,3 get the players used to playing with it and stick with it

We only play for 60 mins, we make poor subs and we get worse second half after half time every week. I HATE SISU and want them out now, but nice as he is there is only ONE person to blame for that.

Thorn&sisu are to blame,ok sisu a lot more than thorn. He wont quit,he's on the sisu gravy train getting paid for bring shite. I'm tired of his Crap excuses. Resign thorn and let a real manager have a go.(not that sisu would employ one). Were fecked.

The Fitness Coach?

Oh yeah - WE DON'T HAVE ONE AS SISU WON'T PAY FOR ONE!

I'm sorry but SISU have made it like a non league setup and they are solely to blame.

A fitness coach wouldn't make subs, pick formation, play to defend (and fail) or give the motivational speech of Comical Ali every half time...although they certainly are all unfit!

Nope.

But we could be 6 or 7 points better off with a good manager at the helm. We would then be all saying we are only a point adrift and be confident of the chance of staying up. The players have cost us points, but so too has some of Thorn's decision making.

There isn't a fitness coach, Thorn is still doing scouting jobs during the week, and various people are having to do twice or 3 times as much work to fill in the gaps that SISU won't fill. Blaming the manager for all of that when he's actually busting a gut for the club is outrageous.

If I were horn and was not desperate for wages from a job then I would tell sisu to feck off and walk.

Sisu dont tell the bloke much and just seem to walk all over him, other managers would be threatening SISU with all sorts and he has no experience of this so IMO knows no different

AT is in a no win situation. If he stays and we are relegated then nobody will employ him. If he resigns now, then nobody will employ him. His only option is to remain and hope that he can somehow get us out of this mess. At least then he will have some credability.

I am in 100% agreement with you. They have made this a non-league set up. This includes the appointment of a manager suited to the lower reaches of amateur football.

So you contradict yourself let real manager have ago, not that sisu would employ one.

So what would the point be in sacking him to have a wannabe manager come in ? Because thats all that we would attract

Might as well apply myself if he goes

Surely having a football team without a fitness coach is like building a house without an architect. I dont get how stupid as a club we are to think we can run our business without one....its fecking unbelievable.

if he left nobody outside the club may want to manage us
Your absolutely correct. Can you see any Manager worth his salt wanting to come to Coventry, where his hands will be tied as to incoming tranfers and he will not even be told of outgoing ones? Sisu seem to be running our club worse on the lines of a Christmas club. It beggars belief!!!

A friend at work applied for the England managers job when it was last vacant and expressed an interest following success with an u12's side. They acknowledged his application but sadly he never got an interview.

Why are people so hung up about a fully qualified fitness coach when we don't even have a proper qualified manager. In priority terms I would have thought that a bigger concern.
