A theory which could be equally applied to this forum...

I would imagine that someone in League One will take Turnbull and Beavon, both players proven at League One level (just not with us...) Presumably they would be among the highest earners?

Yes, because a forum is exactly the same as a news outlet isn't it?

Made your colleague look a bit of a plonker, again.

Still, the more you say there are 10 people on here the more it deflects the fact you keep making shit up because you have no news and it keeps the froth flowing.

Still no reply on the thread about your syndication department and the examples of copy and pasting? At least if it's copy and pasted it's bound to be close to the truth.

So. Has Simon just called us all cunts then or is that a Telegraph style reach?

Coming on a forum for the main football club that your paper covers and insulting and belittling potential readers doesn't seem like particularly wise decision for a local journalist to make.

The main irony is when the telegraph moan about fans being misled all of the time.

Egg on our faces ! Well I have commenting on the list on here yesterday should have known better but thought it was the genuine article. But glad to see Stokes and Haynes getting kept on and Leigh Burge, I think he has proved the last couple of months there's a keeper there somewhere I'll judge him again when he has a proper settled defence in front of him.
Like me Rupert_bear, fed a line on Sunday, from a really close source, but wait for it,
Via a Villa fan. :p :p
Sorry lads. :-(

Think it's the same one at the telegraph?

In fairness, if you had come on bragging about how you were the first for news it would have been better in terms of smug replies about it ;). You just said it was a rumour you heard so people understood it isn't gospel :emoji_yum:

Simon, why don't you try and engage with us instead of being defensive / or trying to win a row with every post? There are a number of users on here who like to be offensive, but most are reasonable.

Seems Andy was off the mark with this one. Apologies. But, in trying times, he's right substantially more than not.
When I saw this I was about to post fair play. You admit your mistakes, fess up and move on. Mark of a decent individual.

Then I read the follow ups.

Most of us here a blokes and if we piss each other off we tend to have a punch up ..... then buy each other a pint. Most women I know have good memories and harbour grudges and snipe at each other for years. Why are you sniping like a bitch, both here and on twatter??? FFS, you are representing the largest print medium in the city, why are you biting and also esculating a slagging match?

You are in a unique position and most people here, weather they admit it or not, would love to have you on side and battling for the club and its fans. So how about you stop talking bollocks and start acting like you've got a pair. Say, "I've fucked up at times .... like a alot of us have ... but lets move on and start afresh?"

Probably not Nick
But let's see where Willis ends up, If the Academy is still at Higgs, Leahy fee gets paid and Dev Kelly Evans signs for us or Borough.

Academy at the Higgs sounds in theory like it can happen, as the Wasps stuff is delayed isn't it so could probably be there another year.

He's right though, Andy Turner doesn't deserve the abuse he's getting. But I guarantee the main cause of this is the relentless antics of Gilbert. Act a c**t and everyone associated with you gets dragged into it.

This is true, thanks to cc4l I think you're an arsehole ;)

Feel sorry for Andy Turner tbh, always seems like a pretty honest journalist who reports on the club and doesn't tend to get too involved in either politics or the petty point-scoring with the Observer. Obviously sold a dud story by some source here, embarrassing that the Telegraph published it without verifying it at all.
Sat with him during one of the games in Italy. Was happy to chat to my little boy for ages during the game. Seems like a sound bloke to me. Got my lad under his brolly when it chucked it down. And after the game my lad followed him to meet some of the players.

As for the actual list. I don't give a shit who stays or who leaves.
Yeah your probably right , it won't make any difference to next season, who stays or leaves . :wacky:

It just seems to me Simon that you just can't help yourself.

You say that you engage sensibly when other do the same, but can you not see how your social media antics and basically saying there are a load of c**ts on here makes people think you're a dick? I'd love to see some examples of where you engage sensibly with people because I'm afraid all I've seen is wind-up, rudeness and ego.

I'm sure personally you are a nice guy, but professionally one day I think when you've grown up a little bit you will look back a bit embarrassed.

I presume you aren't wanting to spend your whole career at the CT. if you're not, you should perhaps consider how future employers may view your antics, as I'm sure you don't want to be a click bait hack your whole life. No offence

Good. How's your wee lad? Have you taken him up the city yet? Do you think the Telegraph ban will be lifted any time soon and do you think the club intentionally spun Andy an incorrect list of players?

I've always liked Andy Turner so won't hold this one against him :)

Slightly surprised that Beavon had it written into his contract that he could move on if we were relegated; maybe that was the only way of us getting him here?

Turnbull I'm not so surprised about, but if any league One clubs watched him early on in his CCFC career, I doubt there will be many suitors coming in anytime soon! He wasn't great and beryberror prone. Bit like Elliot Ward perhaps? Clearly had the talent, but always prone to a crucial error! And liked to dribble it out from the back, although in fairness he did it well where as Ward didn't tend to.

Surprised about Burge. After reading last night he was going, I'd got my hopes up that next season we wouldn't be seeing him and RCC compete for the no.1 shirt for yet another season. Now I worry a GK won't be considered a priority again. Neither are going to want to be 2nd choice, never mind 3rd choice if someone else came in?

Just stop shooting yourself in the foot with clickbait articles or EXCLUSIVES. I know you need to generate clicks but look what happens when its wrong or misleading. i suppose its too much to ask just to be honest and engage more friendly with some of the posters on here. No harm posting and working with people on here to get clearer or more honest proof of rumors before its put up on the CT site just saying.
