he just balances out CET lets be honest
Don't know about balance he tips it right over. For someone who apparently has the only access to the club he is evenore full of shit.

I agree, our marketing and communication is dog shit. What I don't get is why it's so bad?

It's bad because the club has no leadership. You need to have a leader otherwise the employees will sit on their arses all day doing nothing. That's inherently tied to SISU's strategy of appointing people like Andersen, Fisher etc. who put in about 4 days per month. We need a committed management team allied to a committed ownership. That's what Wasps have and which we are so badly lacking.

I can understand resources, but is Fisher really going to veto things that could be done for free?

No, he won't veto things but also he's not going to suggest things either because he doesn't put the hours in. He's already said he would rather be spending time on his other business interests.

There is a Sky Blue Sam suit sat unused for 4 days a week, there are sheets of JSB vouchers. What physically is stopping somebody from switching on and putting 2 and 2 together? Yes people can say "Joy doesn't care" but surely the marketing staff do?

Why should the marketing staff care when there is no leader running the business on a full-time basis? Why should they bother coming up with creative marketing strategies when SISU and Fisher simply don't care? All SISU care about is making a quick buck from court cases and distressing other companies. They have no idea how to organically grow a business, which is what you are asking for.

To sum it up in simple bullet points for you:
  • The PR of CCFC is awful, no idea what marketing people do but the public facing ones have a tough job
  • A lot more could be done in the community
  • SBITC don't really get enough recognition for what they currently do

And all three of those bullet points are down to SISU and Fisher who simply don't put in the hours to help the club grow and prosper.

To be fair, the Americans are way over the top on everything. Comparing any English clubs marketing activities with those of an American club is like me comparing...erm, I don't know what but they take things to the next level. A more suitable comparison is what other English League clubs do.

Expect an exclusive from Les any time now!!
If they are meant to be in private, he will spill the beans just to reck it.
Thing that pisses me off is he never does that with Sisus confidential business involving the club e.g. ground locations etc.

Your not the only one I've heard mention Les columns are boardering on SISU biased. His writing tends to suggest he is influenced by Tim more that is acceptable. A journalist must be neutral in all instances. I don't think Les is at times although I'll stand corrected

Having been a season ticket holder in both countries I have to disagree. Why not set your sights high rather than settle for the mediocre experience served up at most English clubs? Jimmy Hill led the way and we need someone else to do the same.

A journalist is only biased towards the beliefs and leanings of the individual who owns
The Newspaper for which he writes. Imo

I'm not saying we 'should'...I'm just saying that US sports teams are totally different to British Sports teams and the way they interact with supporters, either on match day or at other times.

More Wasp talk by those profes to be anti, of course they're not. Isn't there supposed to be a Wasp section on here ?

there is no doubt wasps have been very clever in their PR but it would not matter a jot if we had a well run run successful football team, rugby will always play second string to football
There isn't really anything particularly clever about it. More sensible.

This is probably contributing a lot to their concerning financial state atm. They have embraced the community with view to building a local supply of future players, & a fan base. The more they do & longer they do it - the more they grow for the longer term...catch them early & keep them for life.

Sky Blues in the Community is committed to providing opportunities to a wide range of communities within Coventry and Warwickshire.

The term ‘Inclusion’ covers a wide spectrum, but for Sky Blues in the Community it is about providing opportunities for members of our community to take part in sport or personal development opportunities who may not normally get the chance.

Our inclusion objective is; ‘Deliver innovative programmes to promote inclusion amongst disadvantaged and excluded communities’

To date we have worked with a number of groups under our inclusion banner including (but not exclusive to):

  • Children and adults with physical or learning disabilities
  • Children and adults with Down’s syndrome
  • Looked-after children
  • Young offenders
  • Refugees and asylum seekers
  • Young people involved in anti-social behaviour
  • Adults aged 55+
Minority groups as in?
Meanwhile Wasps appear to grabbing the headlines by working with the masses

Football clubs and football stadiums can be a fantastic and attractive way to engage people of all ages in learning activities, whether through promoting coach education courses, or using football as the medium to promote numeracy and literacy skills. Our education objective is to ‘Provide inspirational learning and personal development opportunities to raise aspirations, attainment and achievement’.

To us, education is a broad term. With all programmes and activities that we deliver, we consider how we help people to fulfil their potential. This may be through achieving formal education qualifications, or taking mentoring and leadership roles amongst their peers.

We have a range of programmes and schemes of work that promote educational attainment in primary, secondary and further education establishments – but we also look to promote attainment amongst those who access our community-based activities.

We work with partner organisations who are specialists in their areas of work, to provide information and guidance, advocacy and support relevant to a particular target group we may be working with. We also actively seek to identify ‘exit routes’ into further education, training or development opportunities for people who take part in our schemes.

Currently our education offer consists of:

  • PPA (Planning, preparation and assessment) curriculum cover
  • PE lessons
  • Lunchtime clubs
  • After school clubs
  • Numeracy and literacy skills
  • Schools respect workshop
  • Fit 4 Life healthy schools project
  • Secondary schools ‘Leadership Academy’
  • Alternative education mentoring scheme
  • Sports coaching and leadership qualifications
  • Employability skills (for young people and adults)
  • BTEC Sports Academy (in partnership with Henley College)
As with all of our work, we are always keen to hear from schools or partners who are interested in working with us.

We have a number of schemes of work that are ‘off the shelf’, but we can also design and deliver bespoke programmes to suit the needs of your organisation and target group.
That's a bit more like it

When we were at Sixfields I bought tickets for an away game through Shrewsbury and had to sign up for an account.

I get more contact from Shrewsbury than I do from CCFC.

I get an average of 3 e mails a week from the club so I don't know why

Same here. Don't go away often, probably not since sixfields but I still get emails from the clubs I registered with at the time.

The clubs an odd one. Did about ten home games last season. Half of which I probably purchased on line and aside from the related emails to the purchase get nothing. Pre sixfields I would get something every week. It seems to be since we abandoned the Ricoh shop and office's. What doesn't make sense is that I've purchased tickets on line every season since we returned to the Ricoh and other than related emails to the ticket purchase never had an email from the club. Both since and before the ticketing was franchised to Ticketmaster. Only ever had one email address also so it's really odd that I used to get pre Sixfields but not since, not even while we were there.

It don't bother me personally to be honest because wether they send them or not I'm only ever going to go to the games I was planning on going to either way but surely sending the odd email to everyone on your data base is pretty basic marketing for a football club.

US Sports are way ahead on promotion. Think a lot of it stems from basketball and ice hockey where there's multiple home games a week so they really work to sell tickets.

Difficult balance here though, if you implemented some of the things they do you'd get people complaining about commercialisation.

Think we need to master the basics before we try anything else. When did you last hear an ad on local radio or see a billboard for our games? Have you ever had a flyer through your door or anything like that?

I'm a ST holder and I don't get them?
Go on to the ticketing site and login. Then click your name in the top right.

You'll get a my account page come up and on the right hand side a box that says update my details.

Click that and scroll to the bottom of the page where it says other information. You need to put a tick in the email box.

I dont think that's the explanation because I get emails from the club but only rarely.
