Ah, complete shutdown now? I heard they were getting serious with it but didn't know to what extent, it's been ages since I tried it with Hola.

No, Netflix knows if you are using a VPN. I use SuperVPN on my phone here in hospital and it allows me to watch iPlayer, Mobdro, Showbox and the Sky Sports and Cinema apps. However when I tried to view Netflix I had a message on the screen "It appears you are using a VPN..."

why would you need a vpn for sky sports and iplayer?

are you not in england currently?

It's a hell of a gamble to subscribe to the overseas one and hope that they don't spend their time shutting down people using VPN. Then again you could get away with it for ages with Netflix (possibly still can) and that's a behemoth of a company so it's tempting.
Thing is, and its not just us its every FL club, most of those who go to home games will still go for the social experience as well as watching the match. I reckon watching a stream would probably be taken up by a lot of fans who go to games anyway, if it meant they didn't have to trudge along to cold, winter homes games AND they could watch away games too.

Those who don't to games regularly anyway probably listen on the radio (free) or subscribe to their clubs player (£40). So if I were the EFL or most football clubs, I'd be turning a blind eye to those who get around the system - they wold be paying 3 times as much as they would normally do for audio commentary. Its not as if the TV companies in other countries are paying mega bucks to broadcast games (if it was the Prem league then yeah they'd be pissed off) Will be interesting to see what develops when the internet rights are up for renewal/negotiation.

Someone somewhere will work out a way to stream it in the UK, they always do. i doubt they'll go shouting from the roof tops and posting links all over twitter when they do, it'll be kept quite so they don't get taken down

I still think for really shitty away days it would be nice to get a load of mates round and a few crates and make a day of watching the game.

The problem is that it will affect attendances all round, and I wouldn't want that. As much as a day between the City Arms and the Sky Blues Live from Earlsdon_Skyblue1's front room would be great.

Certainly in Spain away fans don't travel (I know the games are further away generally) but they just have the right to watch the game usually. If they don't, then they are still watching it anyway!

Website is a lot better, much cleaner design. Just need the club to get it up to date and then keep it up to date.

Just subscribed to ifollow live match video from Portugal, so did not need a VPN. Used my Portuguese e-mail address and mobile number. I couldn't pay online with my Portuguese Visa Electron card, so used a UK Credit card instead. My subscription went through with no problem and is now active.

It probably went from your Portuguese IP address.

What postal address did you use?

Yes it detects your IP address right enough - see my earlier posts.

They asked for the billing address associated with my credit card, which is a UK address. They did not ask for my residential address in Portugel. Not that it would have been a problem for me to provide it of course.

If it did require a foreign address I'd do the trusty PSN trick and claim to live in Beverly Hills. Easy to remember zip code, na'meen

Yes indeed. I hope we don't get a repeat of the fiasco we had with SBP on the first day of last season. I was on the offal Wall, trying to get Laura to a) do something to diagnose the problem and then contact whoever was responsible b) to post my texts on the Wall and not to suppress them. I failed on both counts and remember Laura's comment that it was going to be a long hard winter. At least she got something right!

I was a PlayerHD subscriber (subscribed til August) and today it neither recognised my email address for either sign in or a password reset. The site itself looks a load better though.

Fingers crossed it works on the Firestick. At least it'll keep me occupied each week.

I think being able to watch it on TV would definitely keep me more interested and result in me attending more matches.

I like how the squad page has match photos of each player from the shoulders up, so the only player actually in sky blue is Michael Doyle

The only country where using a VPN is illegal is China. At worst you would be breaching the terms and conditions and have your account cancelled.

Using VPN to avoid geographic or licensing conditions is illegal. Using VPN for legal purposes is obviously fine. Depends on the purpose for which VPN is being used.
