Really think we need 2 strikers? A target man yes but McNulty is surely the one they are hoping will be the 15+. Need a Hanson type player to play with himExperienced brute of a cb
Rb (Stephen Darby released by bradford today, prob stay in Champ though)
Winger
Attacking creative midfielder
Target man (chips in with 10 goals)
Striker (15+)

Yes this would be my biggest priority at the moment. Someone who can chip in with goals as well as assists. Dare I say it Carl BakerI guess it depends what system MR will play, hopefully Kwame will stay fit, Beavon if he stays might be a useful squad player & G Thomas if he stays will probably be kept wide.
Big mans the key.
Just think at this second ( a week left of May I know) we lack goals from midfield still.

The question is who else can you get at league 2 level?Personally I'd rather it wasn't Baker, but someone of that style.

Let's be honest who's actually got a good knowledge of this league. We shouldn't be hear in the first placeI will be honest my knowledge of this league is awful but I'm sure a couple of players with 8+ goals and 10+ assists knocking about In teams that didn't go up
We should very much be here. We only just managed to avoid finishing bottom of league one.Let's be honest who's actually got a good knowledge of this league. We shouldn't be hear in the first place
Agreed. My point was I can't think of many transfer targets in this league other than the top scorers such as Akinde etc.We should very much be here. We only just managed to avoid finishing bottom of league one.
A sense of entitlement will do us no good whatsoever. We are where we are, let's get some absolute battlers through the door to get us straight back up.

Is that including old players signing new contracts? If so I'd go for:
LOB/RCC
1: RB/Willis
McDonald/Other kid/2; Big ugly CB/Harries/Turnbull
3: Stokes
Doyle/That guy we signed/Stevenson/Maycock
Jones/4: AM/ 5: G Thomas/Reid/6: AM
McNulty/Beavon/K Thomas
So a RB a CB a LB and three AMs.
The 50% of business done Is that likely to drop to 30/40% if a few of the squad offered deals move on? Or is that 50% gonna rise when contracts are agreed and then we move into the loan market?
I personally think the defence needs some work with a central defender and right back as it stands if all contracts are agreed to.
Midfield needs a creative spark with a eye for goal.
And a target man away from the strikers being complete if we're to play the 4231 system. If we're 442 we're overloaded potentially with the need for more natural wingers, wide players.
Plenty of dealing and shaping to do to get that balance to be able to change systems for different scenarios and away games to be a bit more expansive

its 6 minimum
more if new deal offered players do not sign
i would saw change that 2 AMs and add 1 ST
At least we are not waiting until just before the season starts to save on paying wages for a few weeks like previous years.
nothing has changed from previous years apparently.I can't see every player Robins has given an offer to having signed yet. It isn't as though we are paying lots more than anyone else. The good thing is there is plenty of time before next season. So if any of his targets go elsewhere he will have time to look elsewhere.

Depends. Do you reckon we'll play 442 or 451? I can see the need for another option up front but if we are playing 451 we are really short on the three behind the striker. Though someone said McNulty played in the No 10 role before so maybe.
Edit: if it's six as well as old players then this is moot and we can sign both.
K Thomas on the left wing. *Shudders*Do you think? With current players and if G Thomas stays and Reid I think we've enough it's a man to lead the line we're short on in my eyes not players to play behind him.
Beavon has made a career playing a lone man but I'd prefer a 6'2+ man in that role.
Plus if he does opt to leave we desperately need a figure head at the top. Kwame Thomas can play the central role but I'm not so sure he's got the experience to play the ball winning target man. I see him as more of a ball carrying player with pace than a lump up top.
Options so far are if we play 4231.
--G Thomas----McNulty----K Thomas--
----------------Beavon----------------
--G Thomas----McNulty-----K Reid--
----------------Beavon----------------
--J Jones-----McNulty-----K Thomas--
----------------Beavon----------------
The only names guaranteed so far is JJ, Kwame Thomas, McNulty, and possibly Beavon and Reid.
George is still weighing up his options.
A big target mans a must for me.

heading and hold up play is not kwames game it seems. more like dominic samuel maybe? pacey forward
he could work well with a partner
or maybe robins is trying to offload him, who knows
K Thomas on the left wing. *Shudders*

100% agree on having a big guy up front - not to say we will always resort to thumping it up the pitch though!
Can't Beavon fill that target-man role alongside Mcnulty? I was surprised to find out he is only 5'8....he seems much taller on the pitch when going up for headers against defenders. I've only seen Beavon during that good spell towards the end of the season. What I saw during that time was positive - he didn't score, but he was instrumental in setting up several goals. He was also wildly unlucky not to score two overhead kick attempts.
Also, have to say I'm not a fan of Kwalme Thomas. He should fit the big-man role but just doesn't seem to do anything - while Beavon hassles and creates goals, all I see from Kwalme is missed headers and the occasional flick on. When we brought him on a few times last year our attacking options seemed to just fall flat. Anyone else think this? There were also numerous times last season when Kwalme lost the ball and people sitting near me moaned that this 'Tudgay' was a waste of space. Now - don't even get me started on Tudgay...he's moving on anyway...but yeah...Kwalme seems like an empty shirt.
