Is it? Neil Kinnock had full theatres, huge rallies on a far greater scale than this.

I'm mote concerned about the absecence of John McDonnell. Where is he?

Not at all strange. As a union member, and a union rep back in the day, I saw first hand the "shepherding" of large numbers of people to events like that. Nothing wrong with it of course. You saw it in the Scots independence vote from the SNP. (Although they would also "shepherd" large numbers of people to opponents rallies too, to shout them down, which is wrong imho).

The unions want Corbyn to succeed more than any Labour politician since Kinnock imho, so maybe the "shepherding" has been ramped up this time?

He's spoken to 16k people at 2 separate rallies in the past 2 days. I'm not a member of a union but it doesn't feel as though anybody was shepherded there. No coaches laid on just people turning up on their own to see a man who engages them in politics.

I watched his Birmingham rally (on facebook ) last night, and have to say I thought he did very well. Always think those kind of rallies are his strength.

OK, my disposition's left, but I had grave doubts about voting for them before this election. He's had a good campaign, though.

Think it might be a bit misleading hotrod.

It's a clever move to get her out the way, but it's only whilst she's 'ill'. What I'd take from that is should Labour win she will be reinstated as home secretary in about 10 days when she miraculously gets better after breakfast one morning!

Not at all. I just think it's disingenuous to suggest Corbyn is unpopular when he may possibly win the highest vote share of any Labour leader, apart from '97, in a long time. He's engages a lot of disaffected people with politics and shows there is an appetite for decent social democratic politics. If it wasn't for his stance of Trident and the like he could be smashing this election. Imagine a Labour leader with similar political views that has served in Afghanistan...

I completely get your points, and agree to a lot of an extent there.

I think it's a little more than Trident though that has put people off. It's a shame that we are too busy worrying about shit we shouldn't have to in the 21st century. Stuff like the NHS and education should be coming first.

Yep, that's what used to happen. Shop and office floor. Wandering round suggesting as "union" men we should be doing everything we can to support Labour, so "get your arses to the rally"

As I have previously said I am a lifelong Labour supporter. It is Corbyn and Abbott who have put me off voting Labour. It is more like Abbott and Costello. They have been a comedy double act.

Kinnock was mainly addressing trade union organised gatherings, blocks of numbers From
different industries (when we had some) teachers and nurses etc.
Corbyn is addressing largely unorganised gatherings, it just seems he appeals to a lot of
People and they want to hear him talk, it's invigorating TBH.
As a life long socialist It feels like the first time in over 30 years we have had a Labour
Party worthy of its name, I have no doubt the Torys will Win on Thursday (all be it with-
a Reduced majority) but it doesn't matter, people are starting to wake up.

When May and Murdoch called this snap election, they thought they only had to turn up
To increase their majority, they didn't even bother costing their manifesto, their arrogance
Knows no bounds.........how they must be regretting that now.
