Anyone know how to say 'pouches' in Australian? (1 Viewer)

Is it 'pouches', or 'pouches', or 'pouches?'

Seriously though, anyone know? Been watching YouTube vids of people talking about kangaroos, but can't find anyone mentioning 'pouches.'

My guess is partches.

We are off to London shortly and my daughter has to say 'pouches' in an Australian accent and she is struggling.

I find saying the word "mate" at the end of a sentence makes it more Australian! So try "pouches mate"!

Seriously though I vaguely remember something from when I was in Australia (about 20 years ago), it's named after something Latin for the meaning of the word marsupial which is the family of animals that a kangaroo comes from! May be wrong! I'm sure a quick Google would prove me wrong/right?

She can say 'Australia' and 'kangaroo' and 'strewth' in an Aussie accent, but 'pouches' comes out all rose of England posh.

I have told her to say it like 'partches'. Sounds more Cockney than Aussie, but it's better than the Keira Knightly delivery she was doing earlier.

I think it's very similar to how we say it here, they just put 'mate' after it.
