Where would he fit? I don't really think we need him at all now.
Robins says he wants 5 more signings. Generally Id'd say we need one senior squad member for each position, so if we play 442 then we need 4 wings (1 right winger, 1 left winger, and one cover for each). We deffo don't have 4 wide players on the books now and CB is versatile so I'd say there is a squad place for him.
I think we're likely to play 4231 as Robins seems to have always played that. Assuming that, this is our current squad:
GK: LOB/RCC/Burge - Looks OK to me
RB: Willis/DKE - Willis might be off, if so we need a RB
CB1: McDonald, Hyam - Looks OK
CB2: Turnbull, Harries - Both of these could be off, need a CB or two
LB: Stokes/???? - Need a LB if Haynes doesn't sign
DM1: Doyle/Stevenson - Stevenson could be off
DM2: Kelly/???? - Need another DM here
RM: Vincetti/??? - Need a RM if Thomas doesn't sign
AM: McNulty/??? - Need an AM
LM: Jones/Reid - Likely to lose Reid
ST: Beavon/K Thomas - Arguably need another ST here, plus Beavon could go anyway.
Worst case: RB, CB, CB, LB, DM, DM, RM, AM, LM, ST (that's a whole outfield side)
Best case (no one leaves and Haynes and Thomas resign): DM, AM, ST
Either of those could fit Baker in.

I have liked that but the thought of Willis ever playing RB for us again regularly has me shaking, cold-sweating and screaming in terror in my sleep....I think Hyam is the RB and Willis the CB in the above.
How would you know that?robins has asked baker to come back but what they were offering him wasn't enough, can't blame him, shame as would have been good alongside Doyle
friend of a friendHow would you know that?
Was it Mr. Chin E Sewhisper?friend of a friend
I won't say how I know, but I would be extremely surprised if he didn't sign for us again. I would suggest it's almost nailed on that he's coming back.
Money would be the only stumbling block but wondering whether that would be such a problem? Less petrol money for example!

Were you at Orient away when we went there with Pressley? He was eye-wateringly bad that day at RB.Willis is better as a right back than a centre back. He is far too rash to be a centre back.
Vincenti, G Thomas, Jones, Reid?
If that's the case then all we need is for Baker to hold tight on signing for anybody else. Pompey will waver and take what's being offered eventually.buying out the year on his pompey contract is the sticking point
Two very different claims from you guys here.
I think Thomas is going to be a McSheff type. Started up top but found his position on the wing.At a guess I'd say Thomas has played over 75% of his games wide on the right hand side of midfield. Enough to call him a winger I would say.

Not the best at CB and doesn't offer enough going forward at RB. In fact I cant remember a decent game he has had a RB.Were you at Orient away when we went there with Pressley? He was eye-wateringly bad that day at RB.
