Keogh's attitude (2 Viewers)

watched the game today and was impressed with Keogh again. I think what really stood out for me was the point in the second half where he made a dodgy pass and gave the ball away. He chased that ball for the next min or so like his life depended on it! taking full responsibility for the mistake and busting a gut to rectify the mistake! captain material....

Yep, focused on that too. He wasn't going to give up until he rectified that mistake and the determination was exactly what we needed. That must really help spur on his teammates. The crowd certainly appreciated it.

I remember last boxing day against cardiff, everyone slated him.

A year later, possibly the best defender in the league.

We just need to perfect human cloning so that we can have a back four of:

Keogh, Keogh, Keogh, Hgoek
(reversed clone = left footed)

reminds me of the Garry Breen song...

Let's hope his attitude rubs off on the younger players before he gets sold...

Bit of credit to AT for that: he's played a major part in improving his game IMO. And he was a fantastically determined centre-back himself, after all.

We need to campaign for "Keogh as captain" Far better than Clingan.

Maybe, but I thought Sammy was superb today, and we won. So no complaints from me!

:claping hands: Always puts in a good performance. Great contender for player of the season already

Keogh made a few bad errors today: the air-kick early on, the stunning OG attempt in the 44th minute, and the hospital pass that he chased after for ages 2nd half. This isn't the first time in recent games he's made a few mistakes that nobody on here shouts up. If Bell, O'Donovan or Clingan had made those gaffes he'd have got hammered. I love Keogh, but try and be objective? A player is either a favourite or a judas/pub player with us it seems.

When I saw those masks today (which brightspark thought of those???) I thought they were all Keough at first. Would have been a nice testiment towards him if they were!

Him or Christie on par for Player of The Season so far for me.

Me too! Ha, glad I'm not alone in that, then.:D

I did think it was a strange move by AT to move Keogh from RB at the start of the season, but he sure as hell hasn't looked out of place.

Agree with the way he gives 110% each game, he could of easily let someone else make up for his error today. But in almost every game this season his first touch is awful and puts him in trouble, but then chases so much after that he makes up for it. If he could just control first touch his game would bring him up to one of the best defenders in the league.

Just like to point out that I started this thread with an example of him making a mistake. Everyone makes mistakes, Keogh stands out because of the way he deals with it after making one!

The air kick was Herman, this was where Mcdonald nearly scored where Murphy had to dive down to his right hand side to save?
Made a few mistakes today but I haven't noticed any in recent games, most consistent player in the squad for me.

Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with facts.
Fans always see want they want to see.

In the programme every home game a player is asked "Who is the best trainer at club?" and more or less every time the player says it is Keogh, stating that he's inspirational, has an unbreakable will to win, etc. The man is clearly a leader and should take the armband permanently.

He's a committed but limited player for me. Calling him the best in the league or better than Dann I massively over doing it for me.

I like him, but our squad being as it is if we have to sell someone I hope it's him. Controversial I know and I think Clingan adds less to the team. But we have more right backs and centre backs than any other position do being pragmatic it makes sense if it's him that goes.

We really need a midfielder, I hope after yesterday the board can see we have a chance and sanction a loan without a sale, but I'm worried the Juke money won't last us till next season.

I think you underestimate the damage his sale would cause ,devasting is the word i'd use,as for jukes money ,paid the rent.

Keogh has really grown in stature under Andy Thorn who recognised he was a better centre half than right back.

after making 1 or 2 errors towards the end of last season getting used to his new role he has come on leaps and bounds this season and is currently player of the year by a country mile!!

am worried the sisu scum will sell him if we receive a bid tho.
