Hasn't he looked like that pretty much every game bar Wembley?
He's the last player we want next season - no team ethos and spirit. Arrogant, lazy and self interested.

He was hopelessNathan Clarke could have done that job.
The only defenders we had last season that are worth keeping were stokes and DKE, I'd get rid of all the others, inc Willis.
It looks like MR has come to a similar conclusion. I'd expect all 3 of the new defenders to be in the starting line up for the first game.
So you'd stick with a player than your not a fan of, because you fear there's no one better that would come here? Where on earth is the logic in that? If that was the case why would MR be looking to bring in 12 players, Why not just stick with last seasons failures,
Willis has all the physical qualities to be a centre half, (big, strong, quick) but let's be honest, he's hopeless in the air, consistently fails to mark his man, is a poor leader on the field, can't pass and lacks concentration.
I'd trust MR to bring in someone better, or I'd rather see stokes in the middle.
Willis is a better player than anyone we released last season, that's why I'd keep him. He will be one of the best CB's in League 2. And from what I've seen, Willis is fantastic in the air.
I don't mind Willis. He's still young for a Centre Back; however, I think it's probably stretching it to say he's fantastic in the air. For one thing he's not all that tall for a CB, so a big lump of a Centre forward will tend to get the better of him in the air. His physique is hardly a 'Reda'.
That's true, the combination of Burge and no commanding cb was lethal for all the wrong reasonsHere's a thought, How many free headers in the box did we concede last season? At times it looked like every cross, and every set piece delivery into our box was resulting in a free header on goal. We have lacked a commanding centre half since reda Johnson, and turner left.
It looks like MR agrees since his priorities appeared to be 2 new centre halfs and a keeper. I may be wrong (we'll wait and see) but I can only see Willis competing for a place on the bench.
We don't have our hopes set too high if we are lauding the likes of Willis. The guy is a loser and by that I mean is mentally week and has a losing mentality. Same with Haynes. They should have been out of the door as soon as the season ended to get rid of the cancer that is ingrained in them. They have never known any different here apart from losing which is why a parting of the waves would have been best for all parties. These players will not take you forward as a club which is what I have been saying for years and is one of the reasons we are in L2.Willis is a better player than anyone we released last season, that's why I'd keep him. Yes-it was an off the cuff remark that has been taken the wrong way by Ryan and a few others. I don't rate him as a player but dont want him out for the rest of the season-it's his job after all.Was that you on Twitter last night hoping Haynes is injured for the rest of the season Adge?

I agre with what Adge says, we have to change the whole ethos of the club,We don't have our hopes set too high if we are lauding the likes of Willis. While I agree with the general concept too (and you express it gracefully in comparison to Adge's churlishness) we have a manager who is managing us as a proper football club now. For that reason I'd be happy for him to try and bring that consistency to Turnbull, Willis, Haynes who are all still 22 or under, especially in a situation where we look like we will have a squad deep enough to rotate them out if needed. Last year was a clusterfuck and although I acknowledge the players contributed to a large part of it, we were rudderless for 75% of the season. Based on the above I'd be happy for them to be given one last throw of the dice in this division.I agre with what Adge says, we have to change the whole ethos of the club,
For donkeys years we have been a club that has been too comfortable for players to play for. We have accepted mediocrity, and now that has become the norm. It's high time we started to challenge our own players to become winners,
I can accept loosing, but there is a right and a wrong way to loose, and I feel that we no longer see enough passion or commitment from many of our previous squads.
Turnbull, Willis, Haynes and Reid (to name but three) are typical of players who have the ability (look at their Wembley performance) but constantly fail to deliver the same levels when it comes the bread and butter of league games.
If we are to progress as a club MR needs to purge the system of people who can't be relied on to produce at least an 8/10 performance on every occasion,
Regardless of who they are or how much they cost.
A player like DKE lacks height, strength and experience, but has the passion and fight to ensure he can put a shift in every time he wears the shirt. If Willis had half the heart of DKE he'd be a premier league player, which I think sums him up perfectly.
Ha ha! Quality!Been found out for the arsehole you are though. So every cloud.
Dickhead.

That's a fair comment-Robins didn't have to offer new contracts to Burge,Haynes,Bigi etc though.Isn`t that what Robins and Widdrington have been spending the whole summer attempting to accomplish.
Very easy sitting behind a key board tapping away but when you have contracts to honour, agents to appease, competitors for the same players and a tight budget, not as easy as it seems.
No, but it would be mental to expect Robins to be able to achieve what you're suggesting in 1 transfer window. It increases the needed recruitment from circa 12 players to 16+. It's a huge amount of recruitment in just a few weeks, especially if he's recruiting mentally strong winners with the ability to get us out of League 2. Better to do exactly as he has done - get 9 or 10 in before pre season starts and take a risk/back his own man management skills to get the best out of the younger players who have shown weaknesses but still have time to improve. That's a fair comment-Robins didn't have to offer new contracts to Burge,Haynes,Bigi etc though.
That sounds far too sensible. Lets just hope our academy prospects break their legs or something. No, but it would be mental to expect Robins to be able to achieve what you're suggesting in 1 transfer window. And there we go again-prospects "who may improve". Lets give them the next 15 years to see if they do. Might aswell as we've given them 4 already and gone backwards.:banghead:That sounds far too sensible. Lets just hope our academy prospects break their legs or something.
Sarcasm not your strong point then!!And there we go again-prospects "who may improve". Lets give them the next 15 years to see if they do. Might aswell as we've given them 4 already and gone backwards.:banghead:
