Manager's don't half talk some crap at times (1 Viewer)

Just heard Mick McCarthy asking where Lady Luck was today for his team ."Penalty, sending off, carried off" he bemoaned. "Where was Lady Luck today?"

Hmmmmm..

Crystal clear penalty. As clear as the nose on your face. No doubt whatsoever.

Sending off. Clear sending off. Again absolutely no doubt it was the right decision. Deliberate kick to the chest of a player lying on the floor.

Injury: Yep, the guy Frimpong was carried off with a facial injury. However, the guy was attempting a diving header at ankle height and got a kick in the face for his troubles. A little bit of ill luck there.

Bottom line is though he is moaning about 3 things in the game and a lack of luck, yet two of the things he talks of had absolutely nothing at all to do with luck and third was just a little unlucky, though was pretty much self-inflicted.

Not just Andy Thorn then. Manager's do come out with some tosh at times don't they.

I mute the tv every time managers interviews come on. They are like kids. Just once for them to be honest and admit what everyone else can see

Thorn doesn't talk shit - it's called being positive and keeping the players' confidence up.

Any time mcCarthy is talking its boring to listen too regardless of what he is saying. You don't have to mute him as you just turn off yourself anyway.

Two words I hate in football.

"Luck" - You make your own luck. No mystical entity makes or breaks a football match. You can have a bad ref/linesman... Deal with it, get over it.

"Hopefully" - The most over used word by players and managers and usually at City. A shot in the dark word. If "with a bit of luck, we'll hopefully get a win" you definately won't. There's no ownership, no stepping up to the plate. What a weak word.

i should get a life!!

But if you continuously get poor officials without your fair share of decent ones isn't that the luck of the draw? And therefore you would be unlucky to keep having poor officials?

Luck plays a massive role in sport, and contrary to popular belief "making your own luck" is a load of bollox imo, you can try your hardest but that doesn't mean your going to get your fair share of luck.

My point is, luck doesn't exist! If you have a poor run of officials, that's not bad luck, someone is accountable. Officials carry their own stats too so why not tactically account for them too? I've quoted this before but there is great truth in "The more I practice, the luckier I get!"

Making your own luck is rubbish in some ways yet also true, confused yet?

It is down to confidence and when your playing with confidence you try differnt things and when they come off people say you make your own luck
