Showaddywaddy have done the Godiva before haven't they?

Apart from the Damned that line-up makes me want to go and top myself. :(

I am heavily crossing my fingers for New Order. So many hits, so many great memories.
The Damned aside, that wasn't a 'wish list'. More a case of 'reading between the lines' and realistic budget constraint for attracting artistes.
Didn't know that kasabian's dad's had done Godiva before. With you on polyphonic spree, Otis. Saw them a few years back at my last ever Glastonbury - I concur with your experience of watching them live.
If we're gonna go for maximum stage fillers tho, how about:
Fri - Jools Holland's Big band.
Sat - So Solid Crew.
Sun - London Community Gospel Choir.
First reserves: Original line up for 'Band Aid'.

we were saying this year that the Damned must be a stick on for next year as all the other old punks doing the rounds have done the Friday night headline slot.

Yep, true. Had the Buzzcocks and Stranglers.

Damned would be great, but crossing fingers for the Ramones. ;)

Went to see the Undertones in Norwich a few months back, they were brilliant although
Lacking Fergal Sharkey.
One name missing from everyone's wish list inc my own, though it would belong on the
List with the likes of ; Oasis, Blur, Rolling Stones, Stone Roses, etc 'so in other words
Out of reach ........The Jam

Radio 1's big weekend comes to the memorial park.

It is pretty cheap, but to be honest the line up so far looks pretty uninspiring. Some good bands but they aren't performing at the Coventry location.

Also keep hearing an advert they are plugging on the station and it mentions all the cities it is taking place apart from Coventry!

It depends what station you listen to, Radio 1 will all be about Swansea.

Would have thought it would be more cost effective to have Godiva the weekend after the BBC event to save taking everything down and putting it back up again.

See the karaoke Singer that is Ronan Keating has been announced as the first act at this years festival.
His RICOH gig for April now cancelled and refunded along with Jonas Blue and Gabrielle.
Guess that won't amount to much and probably explains the switch .

Professor Green isn't really a huge one for a bad boy chav crowd, he makes documentaries about homelessness and writes about mental health and masculinity. It's a good booking for both as Godiva gets a current name, and he gets to play in front of a big crowd of people who may not otherwise get to see him, I certainly don't see Godiva as some kind of #SHFWF thing. Win-win.

Mostly prompted by a suicide I think.
Was it his Father?
Then somehow brought up by his Gran?

Professor Green just been announced for this year.
Decent documentary maker, as he is a 'rapper' I doubt I'd be interested in his music.
