Agree with that. Up until this day this continues. JS arriving at the court looking wrecked with unwashed straggly hair and Rohdri being asked basic questions- such as what are they actually complaining about -, Rohdri asking if the costs are with or without VAT, the case not properly prepared, amendments made too late to apply etc. It is as shocking as the incomplete due diligence at the beginning of SISU's tenure. They have learnt nothing. It is remarkable that people invest money in this obviously incompetent hedge fund. Our demise is a result of sheer incompetence over a 10 year period.

Yes, of course others make mistakes or share some blame, but SISU stand out from the crowd as a really amateurish organisation.

Despite everything that is going on, I was most surprised by Joy's appearance. I would have thought that she would have gone in looking as professional as she could. She is representing investors' wealth. Probably she is in charge of millions. She looked as someone would collecting the milk bottles from the doorstep after a night on the town.

Or was her scruffy appearance a thing to the judge look how ill it's making me please feel sorry for me?

I hope it is making her ill and she is suffering the miserable old witch :emoji_pray:

The thing is sisu never intended to run a football club. They were told by Ranson give me x money for a club and I'll give you x money in return when I get it promoted. When Ranson realised he fucked up with Coleman and went to sisu for more cash they said no and he ran away. That's when sisu were forced to take over day to day running and they hadn't a scooby how to do it.
Bit of a generalisation there. Nobody knows exactly what went on. But SISU didn't want to go the way Ranson did. So how long was Ranson with us?

Do you mean the couple of thousand for the perimeter fencing, and the £500k remortgage on Ryton, and the £5-75p for painting ryton?... Show me where £20m was spent then!... And don't forget this "Promise by Ranson was made on takeover of the Club"
One more thing... How could we be losing £500k per month if we were "One of only 3-4 Football Clubs in the FL that are Debt free"..(Ranson's words not mine!)
We can lose £500k a month if our outgoings are more than our incomings.

Genuine question SBK, what money do you think we ran off during the Ranson era?

Genuine answer... Couldn't tell you untill we know what happened to the £20m on takeover... Do know one thing though, it certainly wasn't spent on players in those first few months after takeover... And once again how could we be "Debt Free" and see nothing, or next to nothing of that elusive £20m.

Deficit in 2008 & 2009 under SISU was 7.5m per annum = £15m. From January 2008 to May 2009 the original set up and further loans were put in totalling 24m. There was a net spend on all assets including players of around 4.4m in total . So after financing the running of the club and buying the 4.4m of net assets there is your 20m

Lets just say there was a lot of saying what people wanted to hear and then arranging things to kind of make it fit to what happened. I don't think Ranson ever said it was just £20m on players to be spent, it was putting £20m in or available to the club. As with all the characters involved you have to listen or read very carefully what they say - including Ranson

Source - accounts filed at Companies House (in particular the cash flow statements)

I never question your posts OSB58 but......
"SISU have promised to pay off Coventry's debts and provide manager Iain Dowie with transfer funds of around £20m.

Dowie spoke of his delight at the takeover.

"This takeover can only benefit Coventry City Football Club and I look forward to sitting down with Ray and discussing the way forward," he said.
*Edit*... Someone either taking the P**s of lying like Fook mate!

Fair enough SBK, I stand corrected on that but on the basis of there being no clear plan or proper due diligence then it was a throw away comment that was ill founded. They and Ranson clearly had not understood the financial mess the club was in on and off the pitch so funds would have had to be diverted. Or go bust. I get the impression that the original investment was a set amount of funds expecting a quick return on promotion

Accounts still say that in 2009 year end they invested over 11m in to Ccfc. How it was managed and spent on the team you would think involved Ranson. Failure on the pitch by over paid players just made the finances harder to balance and of necessity funds targeted for transfers would of have had to be diverted to simply keeping the club going.

Even my calculations indicate an investment over the years of £34m or more.It isn't that they haven't put money in and considerable amounts at that. Mismanagement wasted it all in terms of achieving dismal failure. That's management by Sisu but also others like Ranson

Sisu trade in money and losses. They have achieved plenty of losses but totally failed in their financial management of Ccfc and its future

Ranson soon changed his tune and said that the running costs were far higher than originally thought and a large proportion had to be sunk into running costs.

I wasn't for a Nansecond questioning your accounting skills or calling you a liar OSB58. but it seems some don't believe my post about Ranson and SISU "Promising £20m for transfer fees" ;)

Hardly the only promise or assurance broken though is it.

As far as I can see you proved he said it

Btw never took it as name calling just a discussion

Care to link me up the article? Pretty sure journalists interpreted it as what Ranson said, rather than Ranson saying it. Regardless, he was quick to clarify it later as transfer fees, wages... the whole shebang.

Transfer funds is oblique enough it can include wages anyway.

Really?..... Seems you know something that the rest of us don't...

Ray Ranson 'quit Coventry City as his hands were tied by SISU'

That was years after the original investment promise and as OSB has said the money was £30 million plus. Also it coincided with a league investigation that ended when he resigned. Ranson is as bad as fisher and Seppalla. He's actually worse as they'd never have showed up without ranson and his promises as well as his huge interest rate loans.

He's a c**t

Am always amazed how easily hedge-fund manager Ranson escapes criticism in some quarters.

Like him or loathe him, his reasons for tendering his resignation(Twice) have been shown by Hoffman, and I think his intentions for CCFC were right. Players were sold at the wrong times, and his vision for our Club was compromised by SISU. The only criticism of Ranson that I have is he didn't stand up to the owners when the s**t hit the fan. Instead he sat there every other Saturday taking the abuse from fans and not saying what was going on behind the scenes(Not being transparent) Something we all now know of being the SISU way of doing things.

At the time, his loans were the only ones with interest charged to them.

Then there's this:

Football League examines whether Cardiff City mortgage is all it seems

This (note the date):

Former Man City Defender Ray Ranson Starts Sports Finance Exchange

This (apologies for the link, the original article is not working but hey, who taught who about the Cayman Islands?):

Tales From The Sharp End: Cardiff City, Tranmere And Plymouth Argyle | Twohundredpercent

And alas I can't find the link about how much interest Cardiff were being charged. Memory has me think 200% or 300%, but I won't say without evidence, he can have that one for the moment ;)

You're having a mare with links tonight mate ;)
Seriously though, he is a businessman, and what he wanted to do for our Club overall he was pretty much right. Now people are, wether right or wrong slagging him from his hole to his pole, yet seem to be "Softening" towards SISU because they brought back Mr Sky Blue Blood, and let him actually sign players, some of which couldn't even make the bench at their former club. Let's not forget who the major villains in this train wreck of a football club are.

Lend us cash, and take a return from it?

Introduce a hedge fund to us, so said hedge fund could make a financial return on an investment?

It's actually standing up for Ranson that diverts from slagging SISU btw, as people have to point out how worryingly close to our owners in outlook and attitude Ranson is and was...

So when Fisher was asked about owning that "Pipe dream"(Our own ground) wether the ground would belong to Coventry City FC. the answer came back as "Er, well, no, we will rent it to the Football Club" More or less the same business deal eh?

How does telling me about something else disprove what I said about Ranson?
