George Thomas needs to make his mind up stay or go all this pissing about is no for the club
Same with Turnbull and Reid! If you have a gentleman's agreement, then act like a gentleman! Don't fuck off last minute and screw the club over! Either sign and stay or fuck off already! Allow us to prepare properly

£1 million is nothing to a premier league club,Hope the money is given to Robins and not Lawyers fees!!

Im by too fussed. Nice kid, wasn't a terrible footballer but was never going to suit where we want to be.

And if we had to lose either him or the likes of Willis / Stevenson, I'd have preferred to have lost him!

Sure it won't be the last we will hear of him (although doubt we will ever hear of him again due to these so called add one, which we never seem to ever hear about again if we get a windfall for apps, caps, goals etc)

Good luck to Cian harries; a player with great potential. I hope/think he will become a premier league regular one day.
At this stage if it is £1million then it is good business for ccfc but if we had managed to hold him for another couple years I think the price would have gone up.

Sounds like 250k upfront with potential to hit 1 million.

Good luck to him, unlikely to feature much in the league for us with Mcdonald brought in during the summer too and hasn't really featured under MR so it leaves him the most disposable asset tho seems too low a fee unless the add ons are easy to trigger not a champions league winner...

I think it's very disappointing personally. People complain about short termism but then seem happy that a promising young player is sold because they don't believe he'll put up with the physical L2 game. Bollocks.
What can you do when a PL comes in for someone? If you force them to stay you've got a player that doesn't want to be here and potentially a disruptive influence.

In an ideal world players would realise they're better off playing a full season or two at a lower level and then being sold on to a higher level club as a genuine first team contender. Better for the player and better for the selling club. Unfortunately unless agents role in the game is radically changed there's little chance of that happening.

You say "I think you're worth more than a packet of peanuts and when someone else does too we will sell you"

Lets be brutally honest, last years pre season he looked pretty poor, he started the season and again looked poor, he came back and put in a few decent performances in got his head turned by Liverpool and we have allegedly got around £1 million for a player at best on the fringes of the squad...ker ching I say good luck to the kid but thanks for the money

I agree on the one level, but on the other no bugger was ever going to play him here it seems anyway.

Not strong enough for League 2. Cash is tight and we need to get our priorities right.

No point in getting upset, they should just use a fraction of that money to bring in another centre back that's hard and maybe another attacking midfielder/striker.

Still need to get rid of some of our other players actually.

I hear everyone's bubbling question, "Robo, how many players are left from the class of 14/15 that progressed from the academy?"

Well...

Maddison - Gone
Lawton - Gone
Finch - Gone
Harries - Gone
Dion Kelly-Evans - Still on the books
Devon Kelly-Evans - Still on the books
Thomas - Out of contract
Stevenson - Still on the books
Spence - Gone

One of the most promising U18's teams I have watched for CCFC and most never really got a big chance in the first team, other than a few..

Eh!

That's only 9 players..... What happened to the rest of the 'squad'.

As with all these things some footballers make it and some don't.

Football full of tales of players who have come back after being rejected or sold.

Be interesting to actually name the whole of that 14/15 squad and see what's happened to them.

I agree he wouldn’t have been much use to us in League 2, and £250K seems a reasonable starting fee. But if the add-ons are capped at £1m it’s not enough IMO. Do we get a percentage of future sale? The lad has got fantastic talent and as he matures and gains strength he could be as good as John Stones, who’s now worth a silly amount of money.

When you say he has fantastic talent - based on what?

Cheers Robo.

So out of that lot we have still got quite a few and lost Sambou to a tapping up.

Not a bad return esp at Maycock and Shipley look decent prospects too.

I think good business he was atrocious against Cambridge far too lightweight for league 2. Skillful mind I think this move suits all as for whether he will become a premier league regular I have my dates but time will tell!

better days

This kid will be a player. Young central defenders need to be alongside an experienced and commanding partner plus two full backs who can help him learn the game. He never had this here. He's a genuine lad who did his best and never sought a transfer. Time will tell but I'd love to see the boy have a great career

Swansea should be better for him than us at this stage of his career agreed. He will have a decent career for sure not sure premier league though as I say time will tell.

Harries will he a good player!! I think this move suits all though, were due a few years in the lower leagues, he won't be ready for this league,

Playing for a prem team will allow him to flourish. If he stayed here, we'd end up ruining him and we'd get nothing - good move for all
