Sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere but is GT training with our first team squad and could he be in contention for appearing on Sat?

He would need to sign a contract and wouldn't be match fit?

Has that been written somewhere or just because they havent had another bid? Surely they have to agree to a tribunal?

I have no idea how it all works, I don't know when it would officially go to a tribunal

If a contract is agreed with the player it would go to tribunal. Maybe they haven't offered a contract as they don't want to risk tribunal.

You would have thought the club would make an offer, if rejected it would be "let's go to tribunal" and CCFC would have no choice if Leicester wanted to and Thomas wanted to sign for them. I don't think because they had an offer rejected we could then force them into one as they could have been trying their luck.

Sign or fuck off now, I'm fed up with it. I literally don;t care anymore I just want this done. He's not fucking Neymar he's George Thomas who was relegated from League 1 last season. Sign a contract somewhere or sign what's on the table with us. he's not winning any friends right now.

Where have you seen that? Knew he'd stuck around but surprised he's training with the first team.

Agree , this is probably stopping us getting in a long term replacement

I really wanted him to stay but now what is he? A young player who has missed a huge chunk of pre-season, not match fit and had his head turned. Even if he stays he's likely to be 2nd choice behind Vincenti now and with higher expectations on him after breaking through last year he could look a poor player playing with pressure when he is fit.

If he leaves it doesn't give any U23 manager long to have a look at him before deciding if they want to keep him or send him out on loan.

All in all I think he's made a very poor decision by leaving it late and it could have a serious effect on his future career.

Perhaps he's hanging on because someone at the club has asked him to wait until we negotiate a fee for him rather than leaving it to a tribunal. Why else would he be here? If he wanted to leave he'd go, if he wanted to stay he'd sign.

A player who probably believed his own hype! I hope he stays or at least stays until Jan, grabs a hatful of goals and he can then be someone's panic buy for double the odds

He doesn't come across as a Mifsud type, I reckon it's probably agent pressure.

I can't see it ruining his career like Mifsud's was.

This has been rumbling on for months though. There was interest from Swansea and Leicester, Swansea appear to have dropped out but how long does it take for 1. Him to agree terms with them and 2. Them to agree a fee with us? Even if we're asking for well over the odds for him it's small change for them so they're either not that keep or he's trying to force his way out.

Surely if he had agreed terms that's when it goes to tribunal? Hopefully he won't end up at a lower end SPL team out of desperation.

You would think his agent could pimp him about League 1 and maybe even lower championship teams as a backup to continue learning.

He could agree terms just not sign until clubs agree the fee.

It was a question i.e. is he training with the first team??

If he is in good shape, and if he wants to play but not sign a deal tht would prevent him moving to Leicester, could we play him on a weekly rolling deal until he leaves? I suppose MR would be against that though, due to the uncertainty, impact on available budget, etc

Plus he isn't Ronaldo or Messi. If he had an Adam Armstrong type season then maybe but at the end of the day he has had a contract with us on the table for months and as far as I know he hasn't actually "rejected" it yet has he and triggered anything with Leicester? All of his options with us still seem to be on the table waiting.

Its a win win situation if he leaves money in the bank if he signs im sure he will still battle for the club Even more, wonder who his agent is?

Its a strange one, I cant see Leicester negotiating hard over a couple hundred grand for over a month now. some of their players will earn it in a month its a drop in a ocean to them, what's being reported they offered 300k to avoid a tribunal, we want 500k? even if it went to a tribunal I cant see us getting anymore.
Maybe he was advised by his agent that he could get better offers and to wait it out, now the interested teams have moved on.

Frustrating isn't it.
Who knows what the reality of it all is?
They've just splashed £25M on the guy from Man City.
I suppose as long as he's sure they're deffo following up he can wait it out for that purported generous wage at no loss.
Does the amount they're willing to splash affect the ultimate weekly salary?

Maybe it's a currency issue they want to pay in sterling and the club want it in Cayman Island dollars to save the exchange;)

You would think at League 2 Level the transfer "fee" would then have an impact on signing on fees and wages, I am not sure it would for them though. They could spend £5k a week and not notice it.

We'd get a point deduction if he played as he's ineligible. Plus he's nowhere near match fit.

Why would he be ineligible if we had him on a short term deal e.g. weekly rolling contract?

Well, he might we ll do if it was a rolling weekly deal which meant he was technically under contract but with no commitment blocking him from leaving if he wanted to....

And why would we offer him one? He wants to play for us or he doesn't.
Because he's a talented player and even if he plays a couple of games and then leaves it'll be worth it if his contributions helps us get points on the board.
