I go in after the game. You'll be pleased to know they have sorted out that bad drain smell now.
I thought that was a hangover from watching the games because my God that was shit football last year and the smell lingers. Joking apart that smell was awful last season don't know if you noticed that when the club stated to fill up the smell went! My mates think it was because with everyone breathing in it filtered it

Drive up and park in holbrooks and do the walk of death up the A444. Have a coffee and sandwich in Starbucks at the Ricoh and wait for the teams to get announced and discuss tactics with my mate for the day's game. Walk up and in by 2.55pm and then be fucked off like every one else come 5pm. Always leaving so dejected. It's like even when I just go to next at the Ricoh I go away feeling like we have just been beaten such is the classical conditioning of that place. Then home by 5.30pm (although I have moved house now to rugby) then watch the tea time game and an early night usually. Not much to celebrate.

exactly the reason why away games for me are considerably better

Anyone know what the deal with parking is at the cherry tree? Do the match day parking restrictions even apply now we have such low gates?

Over 12,000 homes are covered by the Ricoh Arena Residents’ Parking Scheme. It aims to make sure there are no parking problems on major event days, where more than 10,000 people are expected at the Arena.

In theory it shouldn't do.

I am very jealous of all that can regularly attend games, whether home or away. It looks like I will be getting to just Carlisle away and maybe 1 or 2 home games. My routine changes from game to game and depends if I am working at not in which case I won't know the score until into the 2nd half and then it might not be until I get home and check the TV/internet. If I am off I usually watch the BBC live score update whilst sometimes following the live match thread on here, if it's a night game I will follow the match thread whilst my wife watches some shite on TV. And then there are times when the BBC live score update stops at 4:30 so for live bowls, cross country or other nonsense but at least this season I will be able to switch to BT's update program and not have to endure 3 dour Scots talking about how Stenhousemuir are doing. There are also times when there is no BBC program as the Premier League aren't playing and we all know everybody is only interested in that. One thing I have noticed is that our games are always nearly the last to finish, the last 5-10 minutes can be a testing time to know if we've hung on to a 1-0 win or managed to turn a win into a loss, there can be a lot of pacing about during this time and the dog can be let out into the garden more than once. It looks like this routine will continue for at least another 5 years until my sone finishes school and I can convince my wife that we need to live in travelling distance of CCFC!

Into Casino at 1.00 (6.00)
Couple of pints and eats with football friends while watching the match on sky.
Pie, peas, mash and gravy is recommended.
Into seat at 2:50 (7.35) for 10 minutes of banter with surrounding fans I have known for years.
This week. Spend the next 90 minutes trying to be positive whilst learning who the unknown 11 players are.
If we win I'm buzzing. If we loose can't watch any football that weekend.

I quite like watching the warmups of both teams if I can get there on time, it's better when it's warmer rather than in the middle of December.

I think I will invest in some decent thermals this year, the Peppa Pig blanket doesn't cut it. Especially when there's no child with me.

Get up late after being up to the early hours watching ice hockey.
Panic when I realise its later than I thought.
Drive up to the Ricoh and get to my seat just about as the teams are coming out.
Watch us lose.
Go home miserable.
Be in a bad mood for the rest of the weekend.

Breakfast...walk dog...curse when I've forgotten poo bags and have to use my 'stick and flick' technique...print off tickets...leave London 11.30 with son...curse at roadworks and diversions....arrive Car Park C 2pm....curse at the price I pay....meet mates for coffee at M&S...go for piss...join the queue...curse at the slow service...rush coffee and head for Block 18...go for a piss....walk up steps hoping to see a decent turn out...curse again when the place is almost empty....feel excited at kick off and full of expectation....watch game!! I think you know the rest!!!

Doesn't everyone make it sound thrilling !! When attending regularly we did at least try and enjoy the afternoon, irrespective of the result. That usually involved a 12.30 start {having drove over from LE10 }, either in The Greyhound, Bull and Anchor for lunch and beers or just beers in the casino and a bash on the machines. The game was often the anti climax but occasionally you came away with a buzz.
Problem is now that most mates who attended have slipped away and it's a quiet and mundane affair, even in the boozer !

Do those signs still exist saying when the next event is? Anybody live round there able to help?
Yep they do and are always updated really late at night outside my house...

Routine:
11:45am Walk / drive the 300 yards to the Craftsman for breakfast with the old man
12:45ish Either get dropped off at the Ricoh by the wife or walk from my folks house (1 mile walk) chewing the fat with the old man with silly optimism that we might just get a result today if we take an early lead.
1pm - Into the casino. Joined by father & brother in law and our mate. Couple of Guinness. Eternal optimism by us all except the FIL...
2pm - Roy joins us and cracks out his hip flask with something exotic inside...
2:45pm - Take to our seats. Ask SW88 if we were shit away last week. He nods.
3 - 5pm - Take in awful football. Lose my temper at SW88's mate as he purposefully winds me up...
5pm - Walk home with the old man with the sign off of "It can only be better next week, Pops!" It never is...

Is Town Wall the little one by IKEA that backs on to the car park?

Not even a mention of the Jag either.

The only thing that makes me miss Cov is being able to get hammered at the football every other week. Although loads of local away games this season means I can get pretty tanked nearly once a month.

Have always seen the signs outside about ales but never ever been in there. Get that mixed up with the pub round the corner thats behind the shops by the car park.

I drive to most games, last time I had a few (more than 1) it was Wembley, before that it was the Crewe semi final.

Just made a thread about them, bit shady to change them the night before and I'm sure grounds for appeal. Especially if you hadn't driven past one that day and were relying on the info from the day before.
