There must be stacks of former players living locally who'd do it. Doesn't have to constantly be different people. If you got a decent group of 10 - 15 ex-players then some fans who can string two words together it could be good.

Na, I don't mind him really. Linnell is ok to and the last couple of years has come off the fence. Particularly liked his response to the caller last week who was moaning about Robins not playing our own younger players. "You mean the ones that got us relegated" :emoji_grin:

Yeah. I rarely get to listen but always find it best to hear the views of ex players. Also, Adam Dent always provided the best analysis.

CWR is already available in 'play it again' mode. So if the show sounds ermmm.. a lot better than described above, it is possible to take it in another day.

Improve the phone in immediately by getting rid of that idiot Linnell. He can't stand it when somebody disagrees with him. I have tweeted several times to the show disagreeing with him and never once been read out. He is the same with callers and will shout down those that don't tow his line. He considers himself well informed but never discloses any information so either he is an 'in-the-know' or just makes us believe he has friends in high places when the opposite is true. Secondly ban fans who publically admit to boycotting games. The same old people every week can clearly have no valid points to make about games if they never see them. Finally they should vet callers before they go on. Some are just embarrassing and make a mockery of the whole point of the programme.

Any Coventry City supporter has the right to an opinion about a result or general club comment, where I believe you are right is that unless they have witnessed the game through whatever method available nowadays or by attending the game live then fans should refrain from offering a specific opinion.
I must admit that it can irritate when a fan says this player was shit and then are asked "did they see the game?" and the answer is "well I didn't go but........"
If you want the style of the phone in changed then why not lobby as whatsapp group or something to try and affect change?

That's where the format needs to be changed, people will listen for the match commentary as it is the only option. If people who did Podcasts suddenly decided they would do their own and Ifollow used them, the BBC's numbers would drastically fall.
Nobody wants to listen to aimless rants from people who have no interest in the result or haven't seen the game. They want to hear people's opinions of who played well and who didn't, what the manager says and thinks etc. With social media, blogs, podcasts etc people can get that instantly online on their phones before, during and after the game. The official CCFC website now has videos online within a couple of hours of Robins after the game too.

Until they get rid of Coventry's own Alan Partridge, Stuart Linnell, the show will continue to be a one eyed load of shite, controlled by Linnell who shouts down and refuses to listen to anyone who doesn't agree with him, regardless of whether they make well reasoned well argued points.
Like to hear ex Sky Blues on and their views on the club and the football, and agree with Fernando that Adam Dent was always a well reasoned and informed analyst.
