Surely, surely this is a season where the cliche of waiting for 10 games to see how it pans out applies more than ever?

We've got a completely new squad really, so gelling could be an issue. On the plus side, it's the kind of league you can go on a run... even after 10 games too.

But so far it's been... mixed, but by no means the end of the world, yet. We weren't going to walk it after 2 games, we're not going to (hopefully, anyway!!) be relegated after the next 2.

Squad depth counts. 10 games is still a good marker.

Yep, agreed.

Just don't see how we can totally dismiss players based on just a couple of games (Biamou especially).

I've not been impressed with him so far, but many players are still finding their feet.

Many fans have also been critical of Vincenti too.

Let's see where we are after 10 games and judge how players are doing then.

some of our support really piss me off at times. The stick Biamou is getting is bang out of order, the lads stepped up, give him a chance FFS!!
As for Vincenti, I thought he was very effective first two games though he had a shocker against Newport, but does that warrant the stick some are giving him?

I really fucking hate our fans

100% agree with this post

A lot of Cov fans only seem to turn up so they can moan for the entire 90 minutes about everything humanly possible!

I'd give this brand new team at least 15-20 games to really hit top gear... there have been some promising signs. Andreu could be very good indeed, McDonald looks decent at the back and Doyle is doing what Doyle does best... I would personally like to see Ponticelli or Kwame Thomas given a go up front soon (both have been on fire in the U23s this season)...

Biamou is a work in progress... give him plenty of time and he could be a real gem.

Vincenti is decent at what he does in my opinion... he is a real handful in the air, and solid in midfield. He is never going to be quick or Neymar-esque!

Positivity would be a great thing to have in the stands... Who knows, maybe if Robins gets this team firing, there will be more positive vibes! Here's hoping

It baffles me how many people who are football fans don't actually know anything about football. There was a guy at the gym I used to go to who would be guaranteed to have a rant and a moan every week about CCFC but when you tried to discuss actual football with him, the system played, players strengthes and weaknesses every time he would scratch his head, pause for a minute and just completely ignore what was said and go on ranting.

People who aren't tactical geniuses but have the self awareness to know they aren't are fine with me. its the idiots who know nothing but think they're experts. Like the chap behind me last game who spent the first hour moaning about what a bad game Stevenson was having. He got a bit of a shock when it was announced Stevenson was coming on as sub after 60 minutes!

I'm with you apart from the second paragraph.
It seems ever thus re having a new squad, well for around six years now, and this season recruited around two months earlier so I'd expect the gelling to be evident.
But 10-12 games is a good point to assess.

I've done that before myself - shouting someone down only to be told it was a totally different player! Bloody shoddy away grounds offering poor views of modern footballers and their bloody generic hairstyle and physical builds!
And er, squad numbers.

Someone who understands football can easily assess how good a team is based on a few games. Our current team does not have enough goals in it for us to be promoted. If we don't find more potent alternatives to McNulty or Beavon I fear it's going to be a long hard season. Maybe Ponticelli is worth a go? Or Thomas? Or someone on loan?

Something needs to happen in the forward positions otherwise we are fucked.
