Yep, 3-0 , lunchtime kickoff and the 2nd Half threatened by fog. And it followed the 5-1 trouncing of Liverpool the previous week. What a Christmas that was (we won't mention the 5-0 defeat to Man Ure a few dayas later)

Thank you!

Home to Ipswich in 1992, sat in the family stand.

Chris Kiwomya opened the scoring I think, possibly a rebound after a save. We went 2-1 up and it finished 2-2. Peter Ndlovu ran riot down the left wing for most of the game.

First away game was Villa in the mid 90's on a weeknight. Absolutely foul night, there were concerns it would be called off. We lost 2-1, it was the one where we were 2 down then Steve Staunton headed a late OG past his own keeper to give us a sniff at the end.

Tue 31 March 1970 Coventry City 4 v O Southampton.
Stood on a stool on the Spion Kop, I was 9 years old. Willie Car didn't score but he had a great game.

One of the best goals ever scored by a Sky Blues player was in the game against Southampton on a foggy Tuesday night in 1965 at HR. George Hudson scored without the ball touching the ground from a Bob Wesson goal kick. He chested the ball over Tony Knapp(Later played for City) and then volleyed past their keeper from about 30 yards. Southampton at that time had IIRC Martin Chivers, Jimmy Melia, and Terry Paine who were all England Internationals. Fantastic 5-1 win, totally destroying what was then a very classy team.

I was at that game when the HUD got his debut hat-trick against Halifax. And strangely I saw George Kirby and Graham Newton also score debut hat-tricks for us too. We had real strikers back then !

Mine was at home to Spurs, I thought the score was 0-0 but I remember seeing Neil Martin split his shorts mid match and changing them on the pitch (not a pleasant memory) so it was 6th December 1969 and I went on my own, I was only 12, caught the bus there and back, wouldn't even dream of letting my kids go at 12 nowadays, not that they are 12 anymore...Ohh we won 3-2 so not sure why I didn't remember that, mind you I can't remember last week never mind 48 years ago

it was a very good game, going toe to toe with a very good Spurs side. You can see the highlights on you tube.
I had a season ticket in the west stand row D seat 21 and as a nine year old I used to get the 26 bus from Henley Green on my own, buy a program and a orange squash and a mars bar.
Those were the days my friend, I thought they'd never end.....

28th August 1984, City 0 Norwich 0. I remember going to the Sky Blue Connexion in the morning to play 6 aside, and going to Highfield Road in the afternoon, was absolutely buzzing

The wife's first game was an 8-0 City win against Rushden & Diamonds in the league cup

vs ManU December '79
Went with a mate from school and was right at the back of the East Stand (IIRC)
My overwhelming memory was being 2 short to see anything and a bunch of ManU fans seeming appearing from nowhere when they scored which caused a bit of a kerfuffle
I was hooked though...

I remember going to a game vs them in the mid 90s and the East Stand being full of them. No idea how they got away with it.

Late Tackle football magazine. Its out every six weeks, sold in newsagents. And just started writing for an online football site : D3D4 Football. I'm the Cov City correspondent writing articles etc on games and anything to do with the club. They want more writers, so if you fancy it go to their website ?
I will look out for the magazine, thanks.

I can't remember the score but I know we won !!!
Thousands of Sky Blues fans were there, but back then they were known as the Bantams !
I remember when we scored the first goal I nearly shit myself with the noise the fans made !!!

During the late 70s you had to collect vouchers from previous games to get in to the Man Utd game and there were plenty of extra "home" fans in the West End for these games and of course the Man Utd game. I worked with a Man Utd season ticket holder in the late 80's and they always seem to have ways of getting tickets for home areas and once in the ground the stewards did nothing about it. I am sure a law was brought in to stop ticket touts seliing tickets outside grounds but that never stopped them either

My son said to me : " why do I dislike Manchester United so much ? " It goes back to the 70's when we used to play them regularly. The West End got taken over by their fans, but in amongst them were so called Cov fans wearing red and white scarves. They got called traitors etc and were told to keep away in future, which they did of course. I remember one match when Highfield Road was more like being at Old Trafford, as their fans were everywhere. Really pissed me off !

Sat 15th Oct, 1988 when I was 8. Home against Millwall, 0-0 but I was hooked. Couldn't get the line ups on Soccerbase.

If anyone has a way of seeing who was playing that day, I'd be interested to know.
