3 league games since they worked together in the technical area and this has all the traits of Brian Clough and Peter Taylor years ago. Clough needed Taylor by his side to be successful.

It looks like Robins needs Taylor by his side to bounce ideas off and take ideas from. In the 3 league games his tactical decisions and substitutions have been a little strange at times as he cuts a lone figure with the weight of this newly assembled side to gel and get performances from.

Adi Viveash has since come in to help but I cannot help feel he needs his trusted no2 Taylor back

Totally agree and had the same thought whilst sulking on the train home from Chesterfield. Add the Blackburn & Shrewsbury games too.

I thought we played excellent against Notts County & once riding the storm at Grimsby we dominated the game. Since then our performances have been worse than last season and it's no coincidence in my eyes.

If Robins needs someone to point out to him that 2 holding midfielders against the team who are bottom of the football league is a bit of overkill then maybe he is in the wrong job after all. Otis may be right and it could well be purely coincidental but tho very unfortunate for Steve Taylor and while his health is more important you cannot help but think he's sorely missed.

The whole summer was prepared by these two men with TW but now comes the putting all together to work on a match day it's all left to MR to handle. Two minds are better than one and they've been together for a number of years.

Against Shrewsbury, the New Assitant was constantly talking with MR, don't think it is anything to do with trust, the only real difference, training wise will just mean Robins is probably a lot more hands on while the new guy gets used to how he works. Personally, think it is a coincidence.

possibly, although newport and yeovil were largely down to gk errors. chesterfield defintley i couldnt understand some of robins decisions

Parallels I was drawing was more how things were not so rosy without each other but together they clicked.

Some managers just work better with that one assistant, other's like Fergie change there assistant every few years to keep training and ideas fresh.

I'm not suggesting MR is stood there scratching his head without a idea since Taylor was taken I'll and I was far from convinced with our opening two wins like some.
They were good value for the two wins and out done the opposition on the day but they were not complete performances some were lauding them to be. 5 games in now and the shortfalls have come to light.

It's not Taylor's or Robins fault why we've not won or scored in 3 league games just suggesting Taylor is missed by Robins at a big time the team are gelling so early in a season.

I'm still confident things will click and hopefully he returns soon in a phased return

This. If he is, then Taylor should be given the Manager's job and Robins asked to go and shrug his shoulders elsewhere.

Relevant time time ask how much is Steve Taylor really being missed in the day to day training and match days to bounce ideas off.

Robins is looking lost currently and reluctant to make changes.

Personally I'd be tempted to be bold and switch to 4-4-2. This business of McNulty or even Duck out wide just isn't effective.

The change in system is the only way forward with the players in the squad and some dropping out the side too for the benefit of the team and getting some results fast.

It sounds like Haynes had a very good hour in the last youth game. When he's sufficiently fit I would swap him out for Stokes and put Vincenti in front of him on the left, Jones on the right, with Doyle and Kelly in the middle under the mantra "when trying to find a solution, only change 1 thing at a time"

Yeah don't buy it, can't remember the last time we won 3 league games on the trot and no one said anything then.

It wouldn't help but we have a decent team for this league but playing strikers in the wing isn't helping so it's more the current tactics. Biamou missing sitters every game isn't helping. Burge making awful errors isn't helping.

Everyone should take their share of the blame. At the moment everything we touch is turning to shit.
