What do the FA mean by "Safeguarding" anyhow?

That was a proper stitch up. Even the FA admitted what he said was 'a factual, correct statement around the laws of the English game and having third-party ownership'.

Exactly, he didn't actually do anything wrong himself, he simply just answered the questions and the media got him sacked. It's why I hate news outlets and reporters.
They don't care about the news, they care about making a good story

Something doesn't add up with it all, why did he get the job in the first place if what happened at Bristol didn't fit in with what they expect?

Which makes you wonder why they sacked him. As usual they will make decisions based on avoiding bad headlines.

Fairly quickly they will have realised Sam is a powerful man with opinions and they prefer a Southgate yes man type

As has been said, it is just an excuse to get rid of him. They knew about it, but they clearly didn't care until These allegations came up and now it is a good excuse to get rid of him in an attempt to save face.,

if he said what he said he deserves to be sacked.
But that's not why he's been sacked. That matter was investigated, a video of the meeting in question examined and a barrister who came in to carry out the investigation stated that he clearly didn't say what he was accused of.

There's got to be something going on in the background we don't know about otherwise this is nuts even by the FAs low standards.

What a shambles from the FA. And then they did this...

FA covers up 'Super White Army' banner

They really do like tying themselves in knots

This is terrible news for snooker players who will now surely no longer be allowed to pot the black.

Think the government is also in talks with chickens to try and get them to only lay 100% full yolk eggs with no egg white.

I'm going to miss my lemon meringue pie.

There is no footage of the original claim is there?
However there have now been new allegations which are being looked into as far as I'm aware which he hasnt been cleared of?

You'll have to be content with a lemon tart, that is if tart doesn't offend some women?!

The original (as in the first England one) was about the meeting Aluko wasn't even at. That was recorded and the recording doesn't match the claim being made.

The second claim which she made later (the ebola one) wasn't recorded but nobody else that was present seems able to confirm her version of events.

As far as I am aware everyone is just saying they can't remember? Not that they don't support it.
Is that footage of the comments about the other player being asked how many times she had been to jail?

Whatever happened at Bristol was investigated in 2015 by the FA's safeguarding unit and he was cleared to continue working, it was only last week or so that the top people at the FA read the full report and decided it was worthy of sacking.

Its either a witch hunt by the FA or the FA are not fit for purpose.

"After new evidence, Katharine Newton says Sampson TWICE made DISCRIMINATORY “ill-judged attempts at humour”, but concludes he is NOT racist."

Ok, so I get that there were some dodgy payments and stuff, and that he made some stupid comments. However, what has he actually done that is so bad? I'm not being difficult, I just really don't know. Looks like a player hasn't been picked and it didn't go down well reading through the BBC Live Feed.

He made two ‘racist’/ discriminatory jokes too the two players.
So basically the joke about Ebola to Aluko and the joke about prison to the other women.
I don’t think he’s a racist. I think he’s an idiot that doesn’t know His professional boundaries with players, and what he said was racist and discriminatory. But I don’t think he is a racist in the sense he hates blacks.

So how did this new bit of key evidence just come to light?
Not much by the looks of it. Think its more a case of the FA trying to make it look like they know what they're doing if people read past the headline.

First thing to consider is this is nothing to do with his dismissal, another reason for that and according to reports today it looks like he will be taking legal action against the FA over that.

This relates to Aluko's claim she was the victim of ‘a course of bullying and discriminatory conduct’. As we know thats already been investigated and dismissed and this new investigation also clears Sampson of those accusations. Newton (who did the original investigation as well as the follow up) concluded that there was no evidence to support Aluko's allegations.

So it comes down to what the report describes as 'ill-judged attempts at humour'. One when he made a comparison between a yellow card and a police caution and commented to Drew Spence 'haven't you been arrested before then, four times isn't it?'. Spence didn't file a complaint. Aluko, who wasn't present, did.

The other is the one that involves Aluko. She claims Sampson asked her to make sure her family did not bring the Ebola virus to Wembley. This wasn't part of the initial complaint of bullying made by Aluko and was added later. Newton said Aluko’s explanation for it not being part of the original complaint was 'unsatisfactory'. Aluko claims she hadn't at the time realised it was racist and by the time she made the complaint about bullying she had forgotten about it. Nobody else that was present has been able to confirm it was said and the new evidence is a WhatsApp message from Aluko to Spence.

Seems pretty flimsy evidence to do a complete 180 on.

It is a difficult thing to comment on without sounding racist but I think she is making a lot of this to prove a point, she talks of blackmail and then says she doesn’t know the legal definition of it (maybe she should look back at her books from when she studied law). The good thing that may come of this is that smary bastard Clarke may end up getting the boot.

Will the fa change it’s very unlikely.

Has the new manager named her in any squads if not maybe she isn’t good enough to get in and needs to move on.

To my mind this just reinforces the thoughts of many CCFC fans (and other clubs) that the FA is a toothless old boys club stuck in last century paying lip service to reform and its duties. The same can be said of the EFL too.

'Serious doubts' over whether FA bosses should continue as evidence is questioned

Greg Clarke was also chairman of the EFL 2010 - 2016 at a time CCFC fans needed help he and his organisation turned to look the other way (it hasn't changed since his promotion to the FA). Much as the EFL and FA have always seemed to do on major issues, they have paid lip service hoping it would go away

serious reform is needed but the amounts of money involved you cant see the clubs (members) seeing anything other than self interest

FA & EFL not fit for purpose

Damian Collins MP (Chair DCMS) has been campaigning for them to reform for years.
Meanwhile the Minister continues to fudge the issue hoping for a miracle and they do something themselves.
I think the pressure is being built up now, but heavens it is hard work to force any sort of reform whatever.

Addendum
FA still not listening after Eniola Aluko case, says PFA's Gordon Taylor
