Mate called me out of the blue, he’s with The Bloke now and it’s apparently happening now,
I’ve known him a long time & he’s a massive City fan, he’s never given me any reason to
Doubt him.

I really hope so, for ours and his sake.
He's sure got a weird way of doing business tho, a little too upfront to make sense at times especially given the people who are selling.

A number of days? I thought these things took weeks.

It's all very weird after he coming across so amateurish last Friday on the radio.

If he has won the money maybe he's just entrusted it all to Hoffman and Hoffman's just upped his previous offer to the club. I suppose that could be agreed in principle.

Not quite buying it yet. All seems too surreal.

Seems very surreal, not sure if this would be a good thing or a bad thing if true, our club needs serious investment including a football home for our very very long suffering fans but if it is true at least that gets rid initially of the locusts from our club then time will tell, could be a dream homecoming for me and I am not sure I can have a beer to celebrate tonight because everywhere is apparently closed because of the Kings cremation

Yeah, agree. I am not convinced it's a good thing either. It's all well and good buying the club, but you have to sustain it too!

I take it he's dead then, or are they just particularly sick and sadistical over there?

They do have a dark side for sure, one thing I have comprehended is be careful on what i say about the king otherwise it will earn you a spell in the Bangkok Hilton

I would say it is the only way in which it could work and more than likely exactly what has taken place ( if we are not being hoodwinked , Again ! )

"Amateurish"? I can see how that might facilitate a deal with SISU, both parties on the same page and talking the same language.

Why does he feel the need to discuss it?
Bizzare.
If you are doing it just do it.
I wouldn’t talk to anyone till it’s done.
Just business acumen to start with.
Highly unlikely but say someone else was watching CCFC waiting for us to lose value year by year. Waiting for the right moment. You might kick them into life and bring yourself unwanted competition.
Shut up and put up I say.
He is not a businessman. I cant say I disagree that it should be done in private but its his game now, his ball and he is free to play it his way.

If he's now one of four, that is clearly where he should have taken this in the first place. He jumped the gun coming on CWR and getting carried away with his claims.

If he had just gone to Hoffman in the first place and THEN posted the message that he has posted tonight, he would get a lot less shit from people.

Friday was inaccurate and some of it just not true. Think he let his exuberance get the better of him.
Or your expectations of how this should pan out were not met?

I really don't know what to make of all of this. Is this guy for real or not.

Anyway proof is in the pudding. My only thoughts are that the consortium of 4 must be linked up with Hoffman and Elliott and 1 other.

I don't for one minute believe he is fronting any offer or have any business accumen for such negotiations.

If this is for real he is just offering some funds towards this. He won't be the brains behind this possible bid.
Fuck me, a record number of assumptions in one post.

HE put on Facebook about 2am saying deal and Dale Evans sky blue army .. blokes prob pissed or having a dream lol. No chance in my opinion not in 3 working days since his radio appearance

Those doubting the money, he said the other day he is no longer acting alone and is infact now a consortium of 4, my bet would be that he’s rallied with Hoffman

Apart from anything else.... the football league will want assurances that the fixtures can be completed. We don’t have a stadium and he doesn’t have backers to fall back on if we hit problems. Don’t the accountants have to sign off the accounts and comment on viability? They did so under the assumption that SISU could bail the club out in emergency or wouldn’t call in the ARVO loan. The situation would be different now and the FL would have to agree - I assume.

If it goes ahead... either he is with Hoffmann or we’ve had it.

A lad at work went to watch Norwich v Arsenal the other night and his mate who works at Barclays told him he has had a few recent meetings with Dale Evans about a new business account after he won a fortune playing Poker with bet365. Baring in mind my friend has absolutely no idea about all this, for him to randomly come out with it means he has definitely been told. Dale has made Barclays aware he is looking to buy CCFC apparently.

Absolutely surrreal and a strange way to go about doing business, but if it is legit then fair play to him.

However, if he is in bed with Hoffman/Elliot and he has genuinely come into a large sum of money, I feel for him. You’d assume he’ll be putting all the money in and they’ll be contributing....

If he does become chairman then he will need some support from those experienced in business, ideally football related too, which is probably where JE/GH come in; I’d much prefer a fresh start. At least not JE - no offence to him and I know he’s a Cov fan, but he’s been around through the SISU debacle from the start. Fresh ideas would be ideal.

So let me see if I am getting this...
A guy who won £17m playing poker is going to buy our football club which has little to no assets, no stadium and is in need of major investment just to improve it's current standing? I see.
But then what?

Surely all of the NOPM brigade would come flocking back, after all none of their money would be going to SISU.

We will obviously then have 30k gates every home match (based on all of the supporters who went to Wembley), generating enough revenue to build a squad capable of getting out of this league, and also League One, and be competitive (mid table-ish) in The Championship. Dale and the consortium would then sell the club off to Red Bull or whoever to get us to the Premiership....and then I wake up

I always wonder if the gentleman on the right ever visits this forum. He is always the one that any TV cameras pick out. I remember MOTD cameras picking him out on that fateful day at Villa Park in 2001
I am he.

*see you lot will believe anything you read on the internet. I'm Dale Evans really*
