I've read some shite.... this thread is stinkin by the post.

For a start Thorn wasn't at SISU headquarters yesterday in London at all.

Thorn hasn't been told 7 players have got to go at all. How the heck can you budget 7 players going? You can budget that type of detail at this stage of the season at all.

Thorn wont be moved on till the end of the season after the take over happens and that'll be back to his scouting role. Thorn and Ranson are close freinds.

Details of the takeover haven't and wont be leaked or even details of how far the talks are going at all. This time it's being done correctly.

Sorry but I've just had put a stop to this tail growing arms and legs.

Ccfc your version of events seems far more credible. Selling half the squad all of which bar keogh will attract very little in transfer fees and still wanting to own the club is pure folly.

Even SISU couldn't do the maths at 7 players having to go. I've been smirking away that some people actually believe it!

Even if it was true (it's not) It'll be salary saving only as only two players are out of contract and the rest would have to be sold (nobody would take them apart from one or two) and if you did want x amout to go you would have to give them a free and pay a large slice of there contract!

The only players we'd get a fee for are keogh, Thomas and Christie. I can't see anyone buying any of the others

Of course something like 7 players could move on come the summer, there's 4 or 5 out of contract for a start and there will be some want to stay in a higher division. As for this Hoffman show us the money etc, he's a business man at the top fo his trade, world renowned in the banking world and has worked for the Government by invitation, is in the process of setting up a new major bank aswell. Nothing will be revealed until all the i's are dotted and the t's crossed. He certainly ain't going to reveal anything to us plebs on a poxy website.
I think, as frustrating as it is, no news is good news and the announcement the other week that SISU were prepared to talk significant.

Also it has been stated many times it isn't Hoffman buying the club, it's others rumoured to be from the far east but we'll have to see on that one, but that would make negotiations that more difficult i would think and may not even take place in this country. Hoffman is a city fanatic just like many on here and i believe will have looked into any investor/investors thoroughly, and those on here who constantly remind us of the fact he was once on the board, so what, he resigned because of the way SISU were starting to run the club, his club, do you blame him ?

I've been told at work by a guy who is friends with ken deluded that the meeting was to tell AT that 7 more players are to go. He also said that the takeover was nowhere near being done. So this thread is indeed very accurate. Not good news at all

Nice story, but the idea that Ken has a friend somewhat undermines it. :p

we accuse the club and owners of lack of transparency ............ yet all the time it is quite clear they conduct all their business in public telling any tom dick or harry what is going on  ........... with respect (expecially to cc4l who did qualify his post from the off) all this my mate told me , he said she said, a source in the club etc etc really doesnt help ........... but i suppose thats what forums are for - chit chat

I heard basically the original post on Wednesday night too. I took it with a pinch of salt but believe its the type of thing that is highly likely with these owners in charge. Time to step up the SISU out revolt. PUSB

Or maybe ... just maybe ... all these rumors are planted to upset the fan base to revolt against the owners.
In that case, they are working just fine.

Or maybe someone makes it up and then someone else joins in and says "yeah, this is what I heard too". It's ridiculous.

And they say it is women who like to gossip OSB! Just imagine what it would be like if we had a few on here......

Fact is anyone with any modicum of common sense takes these things with a pinch of salt. Seems like good planning to me to be thinking of the worst case for the next FY. Plan for the worse and hope for the best is not a bad philosophy given our current situation. Onwards and hopefully upwards! PUSB

PS love the gossip myself!

Now, I might have missed it, but anyone pointed out that the orange one isnt actually part of th club any more, so how would he know ?

I posted the rumour that Thorn would be sacked after being summoned by SISU the other day. Later that day, I heard that the thinking was that Thorn would be sacked, but he was in fact told precisely what the original poster said.

Except for the fact that SISU would not deal with Hoffman. This was just guesswork as it was clear through their comments about cutting the wage bill dramatically that they were planning to be in place until at least the close season.

And, if you are inclined to do so, you can see the exact point where this happened on the 'Thorn likely to be sacked today' thread! I understand frustration about mixed messages and bottom of the league-ness, but thought that since the information I heard was in the ether I would confirm that I heard the very same and have no reason whatsoever to doubt the validity.

So basically it was all bollocks but none of it was your fault?

If you go back and check, I did not categorically state it was fact and said that I get no pleasure from winding up fellow Cov fans. I just passed on what I heard. Later that day, I heard what the original poster here said. So, it was not all bollocks and it was not my fault (although it was untrue and I was to blame). I hope my reputation on this fine forum can stand up to this scrutiny, I will not pass on what I hear again.

*Edit - if I have to explain my joke, it will highlight its ineptitude but 'it was not all bollocks and it was not my fault (although it was untrue and I was to blame)' was a joke, in case I am just that bit too subtle. *

DIve the fact that you ,me and so many others heard it, backed by an allegedly connected source obviously gave us confidence to share it ,but we've either been used in a massive wind up orsomeone close to all of this needs to learn to keep shtum, maybe they were the one who was responsible for twittergate ,early in the season where At had to come out and deny that he'd actually resigned.

Sharing this sort of info on a forum doesn't always sit easy. If you do have a decent source, it is not prudent to name them. If you share the info freely, it could even scupper situations (think about the range of feelings when Keys has a tweet about what he knows). The least concerning is that you are wrong and people on a forum think you are a mug. I suppose the best foot forward is just to reaffirm what we categorically know...

SISU are in charge of our football club.
SISU have invested and want to recoup at least some of their losses.
SISU have appeared unwilling to sell the Club to a consortium set up by Hoffman.

All that this 'rumour' has done, is re-affirm that. I can only talk about the way it was put to me... because I wholeheartedly believe the source, I was dejected, unsurprised and ever more unflappable in my wish that SISU leave Coventry City Football Club as soon as possible.

I'm glad you pointed that out. I've never been very good with "subtle".

I wouldn't worry about reputations on here. ;)

If you knew my reputation in the real world, you would know that my reputation on a largely anonymous football forum made up of disillusioned and demoralised Cov fans is the least of my worries.

I thought this was pretty far fetched untill today when my teacher said he knows Sam Thorne (Andys son) and said the exact same thing. Apparently Thorne thought he was going to get sacked and SISU said they are keeping him because they can't afford to sack him....

Don't agree with the third one.
