I value your opinion and stayed away from this subject for a week until I was called out again for supporting Dale Evans.
For what it is worth I do think Nick's comments were ill thought out regarding Nigerians and credit card fraud.
Now do I really believe Nick is a racist, no I don't and for what it's worth nor does my black wife think of it as a slur, she is used to such stereotypical comments from people who mean no harm but at best it is insensitive and is best left in the past like the black and white minstrels, love thy neighbour and Jim Davidson.
I am not going to give oxygen to this subject anymore but state that giving someone the benefit of the doubt is not the same as believing them and taking a stand about that is something I will not be apologizing for.

Nick's comment wasn't about the colour of anyone's skin, so why are you dragging your wife into this and continuing to compare it to established racism like black and white minstrels and Jim Davidson comedy? Nick used an example of a well known Nigerian 419 scam as a means to highlight your perceived gullibility. He didn't say all Nigerians are scammers, or all black people are scammers. It's not racist and it isn't even insensitive at worst, nevermind best.
