Glad to participate in it. There's still a long way to go in tackling homophobia in football and in wider society. Witness the embarrassing chants at Leicester when they played Brighton, for instance.

.....I have no problem with it, unless the flags are used as adverts for stonewall itself......

It is very telling that there are no "out" players in the mens pro game. Thousands of players across the country, just going statistically there must be dozens (at least!) in the pro game alone who are non-heterosexual. When you listen to some of the crap fans come out with, it's no surprise gay players prefer not to come out. Remember that whole embarrassing episode with Robbie Fowler and Graeme Le Saux - pathetic (and GLS isn't gay, either).

In cricket there's similarly very few "out" players - Surrey wicketkeeper Steve Davies came out about 5 years ago and nobody batted an eyelid really. It was a case of "fair enough, that's your private life, let's see you play and we'll judge you on those merits only." It'd be exactly the same with any of our players - and rightly so.

Fair enough. I can definitely support this.

Although... I can't wait for some of our fans to start blaming the corner flag again. Though this time we can pull the liberal lefty card and call them homophobic. That'll teach 'em!

Could we have each corner flag represent a different minority; a Lesbian one (that disappears if a ball comes near it), a gay one that goes rigid when a bloke comes near it, a bisexual one (that swings both ways), and a transgender one (that started off as a hockey stick).
Despite my insensitivity - I'm all for anything new!

I think a vanilla one for those of us that are in the small minority of people that are not actually in a minority group would be in order.

Each to their own, and tolerance for others is fine, but I dont need it ramming down my throat.
