We shudnt have lost 7 either and that's The problem, when we need to win or get a result he doesn't have a go!
One thing he said in the preseason fans forum with Sammy was "we will win more than we loose playing football like we do" his words have been his down fall all season!!!

It gave hope, of which there has been very little, false hope yes but we so easily could have been sitting today 6 points better off, yes i know if my aunty had balls she would be my uncle and all that but it's true. This is why we are all so down today, realisation hurts. We have to look to the future, hope certain happen and be ready for next season.

There is only the future, history wins nothing. Norwich, Swansea, Southampton and others all had what looked like bleak futures, yes and i know there are the Plymouths and Bradford Citys, things need to happen here to prevent those scenarios agreed and hopefully they will soon.

Other than to say that we should have had 3 points against Blackpool and 1 point against Ipswich.
With 4 more points we would be on 26 points and sniffing the backsides of Millwall and Bristol City. Thats why we should still be optimistic.

The only thing i am clinging to is in this division win three on the bounce and you climb the league, but in our case it's one heck of a climb. Achieving survival now would be almost as big an achievment as Wembley 1987.

The future never really looked that bleak for Norwich and Southampton. Norwich have always been run on a sound financial footing and Southampton had significant money pumped into them. More significantly they had a far better fanbase which they could budget on so were still getting a good revenue stream. Swansea have been a success but seem to get managerial appointments right whereas we don't.
I always believed under Thorn relegation was an inevitable consequence and that this had to be avoided if at all possible. We will become a very typical Division One club very quickly. I am sceptical about future investors as if they really exist and have done since last October they would have moved very quickly to gain control. History suggests times will get worse before they get any better.

The fact that we didn't means we cannot be optimistic. Survival is almost impossible now. Only West Ham's escape in the Tevez year was more unlikely than this. I think they won 7 of the last 10 games to come from nowhere. Can't see us doing that.

The one thing the 2 clubs mentioned don't have is a decent academy which can produce players! The clubs that have gone down and come back all have good academy's, Southampton, Norwich, Leeds, Forest etc have all used there academy's in thoughs times as well Kris Commons and Lewis McGugan at Forest, Howson and Delph at Leeds, Surman and Chamberlain at Southampton and Norwich had Chris Martin who scored them a load of goals in league 1.
One thing our academy produces players, players who are good enough to play championship football and maybe better, with that in mind i don't think we will do to bad if we go down we have probably the best crop coming through at the moment as well (around the top of the u18's league)
Southampton went into admin at a time which actually saved them as well, if only we had done that in 2002 (MM thought he was doing the right thing, how wrong he was)

Maybe that's the problem?? maybe any fans group should be trying to get fans to say you know what fuck it, we are Coventry city fans and what ever happens on or off the pitch we support them home and away....
You look at a club like Luton and they average the same crowd they were getting back in the championship yet there in the conference!!!!! (and yes they have had it bad but were very much unfairly treated in my view)
But maybe that's the culture of a club that's done nothing really in its 129 year history??
We can all say we Should have or if only but fact is we didn't and were bottom and last 6 games only won 1.

Southampton have never had a much better fanbase than us - probably worse until their takeover and consequent success.
Money brings better players, better players brings results, results bring the fans back, the fans bring money, etc etc.
We just need SISU to f*ck off!
Also Duffy - has it occured to you that SISU have asked for a stupid price for the club? It's not as simple as 'Hoffman's lot should have moved faster else they don't exist' which frankly is retarded.

Well I guess it was the 3 home wins on the bounce. but with that we failed to see the bigger picture of 10 games and just 3 wins, yet 7 defeats.
Or 1 win in 6 with 5 defeats.

My thinking now is whats the point in staying up? The few decent players we have left will go in the summer. If were still in the champ next season without investment we will go down in record time.

I think if we dont have hope we should give up. I know you will say I am stupid (or worse), but until the maths say we are down, we have a chance. Millwall and Bristol C are as bad as us. It is still any 3 from 5. But we have got to start closing out games and actually win away. Keep the faith.

People do base a lot on form don't they. Maybe it's because we've had ridiculous bad luck and don't feel like we deserve to be relegated.
I certainly don't think we're the worst team in the league. Yes I know we're bottom and have the least points - but I feel we could play Millwall or Doncaster off the park.

Agree. If SISU stay we're screwed as they'll sell everything they can. Some people defend them and say they're doing it right and getting prepared for financial fair play - but in my view we're one of very few clubs doing that and it's going to cost us big time.
I won't go next year under SISU even if we're in the Championship - but i'll go under Hoffman's lot in League 1.
No, you're right - there's no point getting all down about it. We should just back the team as much as possible and pray something happens.

Already played Millwall and Doncaster, and got battered by Millwall, and managed a draw at Doncaster without "playing them off the park" .

Yesterdays result was the final nail in the coffin in my opinion. We just cannot keep losing games in the last 5 minutes of games. It is so frustrating, because if you look at the points we have thrown away this season in the latter part of games we would be mid table. Confidence is massive in any sport and ours must be an all time low and see little hope of it improving. Said in August we would go down, additional players have come in to late I'm afraid they think its all over. It is now

We have scored 1 less goal than Crystal Palace who are midtable and 2 less goals than Hull who are 7th. We have just scored 6 in the last 3 games and still managed to lose 2 of those games.
Defending is our problem, we have the second least clean sheets in the division.

20 out of the 24 teams in the Championship have all scored more goals than us, so I would say goals scored is just a big of a problem too.
And Leeds in 9th place have let in more goals than us. Same case for both can be made me thinks.

Yea but the way you talk about it you think everything would be rosey if we scored some more goals, what would a 3-3 draw yesterday or a 2-2 draw at Blackpool done for us? Just me but I would have preferred to keep clean sheets in the past 2 games rather than score 1 extra goal.
There is only one team in the league with a worse clean sheet record than us, if we had kept say 3 more clean sheets this season that is probably worth 7-9 points.
We don't have the players to go out scoring 3 goals a game which a lot of the time we would need to do to win a game but nearly any side can organise themselves properly and defend properly apart from us.
19 out of 24 championship sides have scored more than Palace but they are not in a relegation battle because they kept 12 clean sheets this season, 17 out of 24 championship sides have scored more than Hull but they are near the play off's as they have also kept 12 clean sheets compared to our 5.
Not saying scoring goals is not a problem but it is easier to get a side defending soundly and not giving away cheap goals and keeping more clean sheets than it is too get them playing great attacking football scoring 3 goals per game

I guess but Leeds have some great attacking players in there side and still they have more clean sheets than us, Hull and Palace have squads much closer in quality to ours.
I just think it is all well saying we need to score more goals but if we haven't got the players to do so you then you are wasting your time. Where as defending is different, you can coach nearly any side into defending properly and to stop giving away cheap goals. It is not as we have bad defenders at the club but we still have one of the worst goals conceded/clean sheets in the division. Something is definitely going wrong in coaching defenders if that is the case.
