I think we are playing more to his strengths since JJ got injured, but it’s great to see him step up and repay MR faith in him. Credit where it’s due, and Long may it continue.

Actually the guy was doing everything bar scoring earlier in the season, hitting the woodwork, brilliant saves by the keepers and so on
Robins always said he'd come good
In my defense, some of his early misses were horrific! But i'll gladly take the flack, as long he keeps on scoring!

The goal was a finish of a striker who is high on confidence at the minute. Long may that continue.

My old man groaned when he shot, expecting a throw-in, shocked to see it nestle in the bottom corner!

Yeah, fair play. McNulty did very well today. I hope he keeps up this form for the rest of the season. Vincenti also looks much more comfortable playing in a central position.

However, Biamou still has a long way to go. What's the most league games one of our forwards has gone without scoring? He must be close to breaking the record whatever it is.

Must be Dean Holdsworth?

Good call but biamou has gone passed him
Holdsworth only scored in the cup v Cardiff though didn't he? I don't remember a league goal from him.

Mind you, the end games of that season I don't remember very much at all. Horrendously bad stuff!

Don't mention Dean Holdsworth, nice chap but totally past it when he played for us.

Kevin Drinkell failed to score in his last 22 games for us. What was worse was that we paid £1 million for him!!

I thought drinkell - I think Regis went 20 without scoring as well

So that puts Max in some good company. I think he's playing well. And what really counts for me is the all-round contribution a player makes to the team.
But that will cost us. You can't put all the reliance on McNulty to get all the goals.

That was a dreadful miss in the very first few minutes last night. That could have proved costly. Luckily it didn't.

I quite like him and he battles and chases and wins balls in the air, but he HAS to contribute to the goal tally. He simply has too otherwise it will cost us dearly in the long run.

Might be mistaken but looked to me as if Vincenti was still RM but with instructions to come short and sweep up loose balls/ cut inside

Kevin Drinkell isn’t particularly good company and Regis was washed up and useless until sillett turned up.

But what a player when Sillett did turn up!

IIRC Regis' scoring record was about 1 in 4 or 1 in 5. And he was much better at leading the line. There's no way you can compare Biamou to Regis.

As for Drinkell, he admits in his book that he was a crock due to a serious injury sustained at Rangers. His "medical" at City simply consisted of a report from his GP!! Again, in now way comparable to Biamou's situation.

Indeed. Regis was by no means prolific as a goal scorer but his all round game was very good. Strength/power/speed/good in the air and goals.

Regis was also not just a great player but a talisman of the era, that 1st goal against Everton on the last day a peach and one of the few CCFC goals I will remember forever .

link below for all those who were there and the many sperm on who were still in their dads bags and did not see it
