Simon might want to have a word with the headline writers.

Not sure 'I downloaded 1,500 sick child porn pictures - but I'm NOT a paedophile by Simon Gilbert' is what he wants coming up on Google.

I have 1500 Lego kits at home but don't model my hair on them by Simon Gilbert would be more appropriate.

Print media is a dying industry. FFS most "journalists" now are incapable of spelling or using the correct grammar, much less uncovering a real story. Even in the national papers the quality of writing is at an all time low. They're finished.

Most journalists in the old days had copy editors and sub editors, and time. None of those exist now.

People won't pay for quality journalism, it's as simple as that. The Internet killed the classifieds sections that kept local news afloat and are undercutting the nationals on pure getting news out quickly, as well as better advertising.

I remember selling a bike via classifieds. I also remember clocking onto the adult services sections and finding them hilarious

Bikes, jobs, houses. The news was basically wrapping for all that. Along comes eBay and Craigslist and now we have the fucking Canary and 5 Things You Didn't Know About Foleshill.

Do they still have a specific day for motor vehicle sales? Seem to remember years ago it was a Thursday or Friday when the small adds in the motor section used to quadruple.

People will pay even less for shitty journalism, which is where the print media are currently at.

Thing is, I'd pay for decent print or content still.

Yes, but it's a vicious circle. Online media means less money for print media, which means lower quality journalism, and this in turn leads to fewer people spending money on print media. The print media industry is basically fucked.

I've noticed that more & more stories feature stuff in East Birmingham/Solihull.

I am a bit of one for sure.

I do know there are pretty much only two places
I truly like to be though. One is inside a vagina and the other is Pizza Hut.

Sadly this isn’t even close to true. Far more people pay for the complete drivel in the tabloids than for stuff like the FT or the Economist. Shitty journalism does very very well and that’s why other media outlets are following suit.

Jesus Buzzfeed started out as nothing but the shit we make fun of the CT for and now is seen as a serious organisation worthy of teaming up with the BBC.

It's the click bait that bugs me... the same story hashed together with the same quotes but a different headline and then a recap of all the repeated stories...
