That's because the opposition were throwing more men forward in the second half chasing a goal, so of course we were creating more chances.

Ponticelli did nothing of note, lost the ball a few times, didn't really contribute to any attacks.

If we did create more chances it certainly wasn't because Biamou went off.
wasn’t it Ponticelli who drew the foul that led to the red card?

At this point it seems biamou has to just turn up to please some .
Way below the quality we need , way way below

I think it would be fair to say that, even after a noticable improvement in his performances, he's currently not up to the quality we ideally need. I wouldn't write him off though. If he continues to improve, he has the potential be a useful player at some point in the future.

Time is not on his side he is 27. I can’t deny he is improving but starting from such a low base it’s not difficult to.

I’m staggered he’s 27 - I thought he was some 21 year old rookie.

The thing is, we're 3rd in the league with him playing...why rock the boat and drop him? Him and McNulty seem to be a bit like the Heskey/Owen combination. No one liked Heskey but he was the perfect foil for Owen. McNulty is on fire at the moment...keep things as they are.

And granted Heskey did score some goals but mainly when he was the main striker, not playing behind Owen.

When Biamou eventually gets one, I reckon it'll be a big monkey off his back and his confidence will rocket. Just needs that one to go his way.

Biamou will certainly be the hero if he scores a 90th minute winner against Stoke

Well said, Weeman.

If we can get someone better in then great, but for now it IS working.

It’s not working at all. It’s only working as the defence rarely lets in more than one goal. So the fact we see carrying him is not an issue. If the defence lets in a couple on the first half of a game it’s game over with no forward threat.

You think we are carrying him. I don't think we are.

You are very much in the minority in your thinking for yesterday's game. The vast majority thought he played well.

If Robins can bring someone better in though I would be very happy.

The vast majority based on what exactly?

Also as someone pointed out coventry fans have a history of supporting a trier over ability.

Always remember the laughable support Robbie Simpson had here and people phoning in to the radio saying he’s better than Jordan Henderson.

If he was missing loads of chances I think I would be more critical, but he's not.

Most on here rated him yesterday and as I said yesterday, there were people who don't usually rate him, giving him a standing ovation.

I do hope we can bring someone better in. A target man who also scores with regularity would be perfect.

That would help but I also think we could do with getting a few more crosses into the box to help them.

Totally agree.

I have been saying (along with many others) that it is the supply into the strikers more so than the strikers themselves that is the problem.

We need more creativity from midfield. Thankfully Bayliss has given us some of
that of late and it has given us a bit of a new dimension.

But as has been said, just how many chances does Biamou get?

Hardly any.

That’s because he never gets into a position to complete serious attempts on goal. He never gets in front of defenders for crosses or set pieces as he offers zero threat in advanced positions.

Of course there are occasions when he gets presented with chances such as against Wycombe which he promptly misses.

I see that arguing less is not one of your new year's resolutions this year.

Luckily, mine is to bite and argue less.

:)

Have a most wonderful and joyous day of contemplation.

Burge 6 One Good first half save, a couple of catches and that’s about it.
Grimmer 6 Not one of his best days.
Stokes 7 Getting back to the player we know-unlucky with the one that hit the bar.
Davies 7 Won everything but loses a mark as should have scored the header.
Willis 7 Would have got 8 but decided to tee up the striker with a poor header 2nd half which nearly cost us but luckily fired it over.
DKE 5 Abysmal. Always looking for the safe backwards/sideways pass .Only reason he didn’t get 4 was because he made a couple of tackles/interceptions 2nd half. Needs to go back to the shire.
Doyle 6 Few times he gave the ball away but still full of energy and covered the ground.
Shipley 6 Needs a rest now and to be taken out of the firing line.
Bayliss 8 Forward thinking midfielder-not at all dazed by the cloggers either-a blessing that Kelly got injured or we may not have found out.
McNulty 8 Man of the match. Confidence is sky high and again a goal to keep the run going. Clever runs and play and should really have had another goal but keeper made a couple of decent saves.
Biamou 6 I can see it from both sides, yes he is not scoring but brings something different. His season was summed up when he had a chance 7-8 yards out in the first half that he cocked up again and blasted wide-luckily he got out of jail as the linesman had his flag up.

Ponticelli 6 Fresh legs that were needed to close them down.

I thought the Biamou chance that was offside was saved by the keeper wasn't it?

Yes keeper saved it 1 on 1 so should really of still put it away. Was NEVER offside though I don't know what the lol no was watching but it clearly wasn't the game!
