We need a third player in (9 Viewers)

To replace Nazon don't we? A striker.

As it stands we have just:

Biamou
McNulty
Beavon
Ponticelli

So, just one target man, a player who is only a bit part player and coming to the next of his career and then a raw, up and coming player in Ponticelli.

Biamou gets injured or suspended we have no target man and I think that above group puts so much pressure on McNulty to get all the goals.

What happens if McNulty gets injured?

We either need to bring Thomas back into the fold or replace Nazon don't we?

No-one else is going to take up the slack. Ponticelli is the only other goalscorer amongst those.

As long as he pays a premier league price for him we will all be happy

Strikers are played to score goals. I have been saying this for weeks, but if we lose McNulty for any reason we really are screwed.

As it stands we have just:

Biamou
McNulty
Beavon
Ponticelli

The latter is also not playing that much and is very young.

We definitely need another striker in if Nazon really has gone.

Says the new lad from Brighton can play anywhere along the front (although he doesn't look like a target man). without Biamou, everything will have to go on the deck.

Some do have to leave and Robins has said as much.

Question is though, can it be who we want to get rid of, or do we have to sell someone we really want to keep?

Oh and right at this very moment I am watching ...... Sherlock!!!

We were after a striker from Doncaster in the summer, maybe Robins could try and get him in?

Ponticelli seems to be trying too hard, he runs and chases and if thats what he does in the unders great but I seriously doubt it, we do have the prolific K Thomas on our books along with as mentioned the old work horse Kyel Reid so I don't know what the panics all about, haven't mentioned Beavon up until now because sadly its not happening for him

Ponticelli is chasing everything and ending up on the wings half the time when we need him in the middle.

The question is clubs tend to 'make' strikers at this level, such as McNulty who if he carry's on scoring will surely get an offer in a higher league.
The opposite is true when looking for a successful striker to be brought in. We are a league 2 club, the bottom tier. So anyone successful is not looking to relegate himself. So with that in mind who can we find? It has to be a loan like Nazon looking for game time, but must be someone who has the quality enough to perform well at our level. So who could be our new Nazon/Armstrong? Perhaps there is an old striker still very capable now on the fringes at clubs like Villa. Agbonlahor for example who would still score for fun at our level and we could look to sign him permanently for league 1?
What say all of you?

For Christ’s sake Ponticelli is a raw kid learning on the hoof and in a poor forward line too, there shouldn’t be one word of criticism about him. Hopefully MR will get another striker in to relieve any pressure on him and I think he’ll develop into a very good player.

There shouldn't be one word of criticism about him? Not even constructive?

No-one's slating the lad. Merely just saying he's raw and rightly so, he was late into the academy system.

I too think he could develop into a good player, but to say there shouldn't be any criticism of him at all is rather daft.

Think everyone has been constructive thus far.

I dont see any deals being done for a few weeks now in all honesty.

MR has insinuated the books are tight, and some need to leave before they arrive. So far only Lahey has gone, I personally think he's got to move someone now.

If we can shift Reid back out that will help a lot with funds. I'd imagine his future will decide a lot of our work left to do this January.
