I've been away for the Christmas period and dedicated some time to my family and as we know in England that means I've missed a lot of football Port Vale, Carlise and Chesterfield.
Looking for some help filling in the blanks from anyone kind enough. I've tried skimming over a few threads this morning to get a idea of performances, injuries....etc

If I'm correct another knee injury this time big Pete, McNulty winning the fans around finally and a real threat in front of goal and Biamou still deciding opinions and goalless still. Bayliss playing well!!

Davies come in and done ok when filling in for Willis/Mcdonald who have/had minor injuries and Hyam had a cameo. Willis solid v Chesterfield I'm pleased to hear. How's DKE done since his inclusion again since Wycombe?

New lad in from reading now, any idea who's the new man is due in any day?

Anything I'm missing?

The Port Vale game was awful on a spongey pitch that the ball bounced off in a very weird way. Played 4-4-2 but Grimmer started right wing/midfield, Willis at RB. We created absolutely nothing all game - threw Ponticelli on near the end and played him on the right wing too. No-one could cross for shit. We played very deep and went pretty direct with the exception of Bayliss who carried the ball forward well - pretty much the only positive from the game. Some odd choices from MR and plenty of doom and gloom at that point as it was poor all round and was a game that on paper should have stretched our unbeaten run.

Carlisle: Beavon in for Biamou, DKE for McDonald with Willis reverting to CB and Grimmer back to RB. Willis lasted 18 minutes before a dead leg forced him off for Hyam. It was another awful first half, very deep again, with Doyle particularly guilty hitting long balls with regularity to Beavon. Beavon off at HT and Duck on. Score very early 2nd half, ironically from one of Doyle's long balls, but it was shocking defending to let the ball bounce and McNulty in. Duck lasted 19 minutes before going off with what looked to me like a feigned injury. Biamou came on and worked hard and we were much the better team then. McNulty should have made the game safe but missed a very poorly struck penalty after a pretty clear foul in the box. 3-0 wouldn't have been an unfair final scoreline.

Chesterfield: Ricoh pitch looked terrible. Willis recovered from his dead leg. Still no Rod. We dominated a 1-0 in terms of chances but they actually played some decent footy and had plenty of possession. We scored a relatively early goal out of nothing, good McNulty finish from distance that the keeper probably should have done better with. Surprisingly it didn't open the game up as expected and they got very bitchy about everything - almost seemed like they were 1-0 up. Centre backs were excellent all game and they created nothing really except one gilt edged chance in the 2nd half that they should have buried from about 10 yards out. 2nd half we played a lot more on the counter attack, too deep again especially after they went down to 10 men. Utilised Bayliss' ability to carry the ball over 25 yards a lot. He played very well again but lacked a bit of composure with either his final ball or finishing. McNulty could have had a hattrick bar a couple of decent saves from their keeper. Ponti got 25 mins but only really ran around a lot. He did get their player his 2nd yellow though when Wiseman tried to get in front of him but couldn't get his arm across Ponti's enormous Desperate Dan chin.

Summary: Tactially we weren't great again, very deep in every first half dictating a longer ball game. Showed good character and squad depth in battling hard for 3 wins out of 4 though and somehow, despite only being 6th in the form table have scraped into an auto spot. 1 or 2 fresh faces out wide on loan, together with the emergence of Bayliss, should make a big difference for us.
Oh, and here's how Vincenti's injury looked:

Cheers! Thanks for that. The Wycombe game was the last I attended. Watching the highlights of games I've missed this morning but you only get half the picture from that.
I seen big Pete's fall, didn't look good at the time.

The lad said about the ducks lack of application and desire at Carlise as he was listening to the second half. Think this loan has ran its course and so has MR patience in him.

Craig Bongelli has plenty to be thankful for this holiday weekend.

The Kitchener strongman athlete is recovering after a 360 pound boulder fell on his chest during an Oktoberfest strongman competition. The 22 year-old was just about to hoist the fourth and final boulder in the atlas stones event when things went wrong.

Bongelli said before blacking out from the strain of lifting the boulder, he knew something was not right.

“I felt super uncomfortable, I knew everything was straining to a fairly large degree,” said Bongelli. “But all I was thinking in my head was that I could feel the ledge. And the only thing I was thinking was one more inch.”

Bongelli’s girlfriend and coach Alyssa Coppolino was in the crowd and panicked when she saw him go down.

“I just didn’t know what to do, I didn’t know if I wanted to be beside him, I was like if he’s dead, heaven forbid, I don’t really want to be next to him necessarily.” said Coppolino.

While the injuries could have been severe or even fatal, Bongelli says he managed to get by with only a few scratches and some bruising.

Despite the accident, Bongelli finished fourth in the atlas stones event and tied for third place overall in the competition.

The more you look at the team selection for that Port Vale game you more you blame Robins for that defeat.

Also wouldn’t have seen Vale hammering Luton after their performance against us either.

We could’ve should’ve won and hopefully MR gets some players in that ensure he doesn’t put a right back as a winger again!

Or i will add is willis himself has been excellent when he has played without mscdonald who many said was carrying him

Stokes is getting bsck to his best

And robons still sees every gsme like the fans do

Only went to cornwall to spend new year with family and in laws but as it was only for a week I did a self imposed ban as they are widowed for large parts of the year as me and the lad disappear most Saturdays so least I could do was spare them the week. I kept I touch with results and a few stolen scrolls on here but nothing to be in the loop.

Back to work today and time to catch up, I did notice the general feeling on the Chesterfield thread was Willis put in a real solid performance to be widely pleasing result from everyone. Pleased for him, and long may it continue for whoever the centre pairing maybe. Please that Hyam came in and did a good job too

That is dedication to the family. Wherever you went you obviously had no internet/wifi.

Cannot believe such a hardcore fan wasn't in tune of CCFC.

Willis was excellent on Monday. Played really well. Davies too.

Yeah I took the finger off the pulse but knew it was in good hands. 9pts from 12 is a good haul.

Maybe I should stay away more....

To be fair to Robins I think he was trying a bit of squad rotation which unfortunately backfired
